Yours is far more cleaner than mine. I’ve had to wipe all sorts off of the walls, and decorating is going to be an absolute pain as the previous occupant didn’t care to maintain the place. Should be interesting. Hope you’re getting along alright!

Are you in temporary accommodation at the moment? At band B it could take a year or two to be offered a property. It varies though, so pinch of salt. Could be sooner than that or later. When I was in band A it took me about a year to get my flat.

Congrats, Is electric and gas on a meter? Like you pay separate from rent , council tax? Do you have to pay bedroom tax? If you work too many hours does this effect your rent (working to just pay rent?) Sorry for extra questions x

Yes, you pay rent if you’re working, the amount you earn affect how much you pay so it will be calculated by the council depending on what you earn. No you don’t pay bedroom tax, your rent and bills is your responsibility. In my case electric and gas is on meter, it is different for each houses

Thank you hun! Both are good, but it depends on lucks, some get good council homes while some don’t and sometimes you don’t have the choice of refusing, it also same with housing associations. But for me, it is housing associations. ❤️

Nice place! Jealous about the balcony. I'm in a large 2 bed top floor 2021 new build apartment, (council) and it has no balcony, It has double french doors with the glass balcony (can't think what it is called) but, i would adore an actual balcony like you have.. Nice little table and chairs, you could put fake grass down, plant pots, make it cosy, little twinkle lights for on a night :) Congrats on the new place. Looking forward to seeing Updates.

I was having issues with the property and environment. It took a while and a lot of fight before I was listened to and I was finally moved to housing associations.

It’s a very nice clean place. It would be great once you move in there you can spice it up with all your stuff. It wouldn’t be too bad for me. I live in Indiana and there is barely any housing. I’m trying to get into the 55 and up next year as I will be 55 and don’t want to be around kids, but they just don’t have enough housing and that’s everywhere for everybody all over the world. I have heard Prince William is doing stuff about the homeless thank God he is everybody needs a home that they can go to, and lay their head down and sleep.❤

As someone who is White British - specifically English (my ancestors have been here over 500 years) I always am grateful when I have the privilege to try different cuisines. A dish can be more than just fuelling your body, it's a recipe that has been passed down through generations, it's food that has helped people through tough times, it's a memory - it is more than just a dish. Even if I end up not liking it at least I have had the opportunity to experience that specific dish & a little bit of the culture that I otherwise would not have the pleasure of experiencing. I'm sorry for the rant but this stuff gets to me too! ❤

I'm autistic, going to study at open uni this October, thinking about moving to council house, Who will be paying for electricity and gas if i get? and repairing things like boiler? i understand you need to furnish by yourself. 2. I have been living and working in Maidstone (Kent) for more than 2 and half years, Do you think the council can give me studio flat if i would like to choose in Ramsgate (Kent)?

Yes you pay your bills yourself, for things like repair you normally would be given information/number to call for repairs You Should be able to but for every local authority they have different rules so i will advise you to look on your local authority website for more detailed information because normally to get a entitled to a council house, you have to be in priority to the council; either you are pregnant, fleeing from abuse, evicted from your home and you have children, homeless( like literally they need to see you have nowhere to stay or else they won’t help),health conditions and so on and again it depends on your situation. A lot goes into it I hope this helps
