They are ewes (girls) an they are in lamb an if you look closely at their feet an belly you would see the mud. In a month or two they will be very heavy an lay on the ground the muddy ground as it's raining a lot by this time. If we don't take the wool off now they sometimes can't get up an die. This is called being cast. Shearing is done at different times of the year to avoid problems like this. It costs more to shear them than the wool is worth so is done for animal welfare. Hard to judge not walking a mile in someone's shoes. Don't get me wrong I love animals an this planet. I do not hunt or hurt any animals an do my best to shear them as stress less as possible.

So this done so the sheep don't become too heavy. They are in lamb it is winter time here an it rains a lot. Sometimes they are unable to stand up because of the weight this is called being cast an die. Shearing helps prevent this.i truly understand qualities the wool provides so we use combs that leaves two weeks off growth on them. Within a month they are fully insulated with ease of movement. They will also eat more as a result which helps enormously when they lamb.
