It’s funny how everyone that is not a gun owner has all sorts of ideas about how to make it harder for law abiding citizens from getting a firearm. When the reality criminals will always be able to get guns.

Most cities out west were designed for the automobile. The city’s on the east coast do have, trains, subways, public buses. The reason the others don’t have the same infrastructure is because it’s not profitable. Most cities with buses are subsidized by the government because nobody uses it. The cities all lose money on their public transportation.

The United States 🇺🇸 sends billions of dollars to other countries like Germany, France and many other countries. Where do you think the money comes from in these countries that provide free healthcare? Yes the USA is theoretically paying the bill. 😮

Being partially German, when Germans know they're right... they'll let you know in no uncertain terms. That renowned Prussian bluntness. Though, Feli says it with a smile. Sort Rye und Steel mit a Velvet glove.

I agree with everything you said about what is wrong in my country. I think it is much worse now than when I was young. The country has gotten considerably worse with each generation, which is extremely disappointing. It all seems to been the pursuit of freedom and some very bad court decisions. I am a gun owner but as a hobby not so much for protection. The gun lobby goes overboard about the 2nd amendment rights, keep in mind when the constitution adopted the 2nd amendment all they had were single shot muzzleloaders and I don't think they ever dreamed of some of the guns available today.. I would say I hope enough people recognize these wrongs and try over the years ahead to make them right.

Servus Feli. Thanks for the videos! Everyone I have seen has been very impressive. First I have to agree with the person below about having to spend 3 min explaining something that in most any other conuntry would not need to be mentioned at all. I am with you on every one of your points, especially bread and dairy. As a professor, I have to disagree a little wiht the cost of ed bit. Most of those images you showed make the universities millions of dollars, they don’t cost the students anything. Those millions of dollars almost never make its way back to any academic department and certanly do not benifit the majority of students. There is no excuse for the cost of education in this country. Just wanted to add, one of the first videos I watched of yours was on the Nazi. I grew up in a very small town in the midwest where not that long ago spoke German to a large extent and even had church serveses in German every Sunday. As I didn’t learn it then, I am trying to learn now and am convinced that it is a language developed to torture children. Anyway, in tha video you asked what people thought of Germany. Even though I have wonderful memories of the taverns in my hometown with accordian players, playing old German folk music and old men sitting around playing Pinochle. Oh and lets not forget front steps of houses that you could literally eat off, (well actually only if you wanted to be beaten to death by a mop handle for messing up the steps). Most of the families were from Bavaria and Alsace, but neither the stereotypes nore Nazi is what I think of. My first thoughts are das Bauhaus, Der Blue Reiter, Der Büker, Hermann Hess and things like that. and of course amazing beer, wine and food. Just thought you might like to hear that there are a few people here that have a different view of your home. Bis später

A few things... 1. I said this in a separate comment, free speech does not exist in Germany. 2. Most of the gun violence in the US is gang violence. Gangs largely aren't getting guns through legal enterprise. 3. To understand gun culture as a whole, you may need to look at more than your experiences in Cincinnati. There's a whole lot of the United States.... Gang violence and mass shootings aren't happening everywhere everyday. 4. Go try to buy a firearm. There are federal background checks. I don't think most states allow you to buy and take home a hand gun the same day. (Hand guns being used in most shooting in the US, not the AR rifles you hear about which is no differently in operation than any hunting rifle or shotgun). In short it's already pretty difficult to buy a firearm. Especially ones that statistically are used to delete the most people. 5. Come to Wisconsin for cheese and dairy in general.

The advantages of round abouts you presented is what we learned at university at spatial planning in Germany. In my youth there were no roundabouts. I think they came in the 1980ies because the EU was co-financing them. I assume that our federal government gives money, too. As the minister for transport in the last decades tycically came from the CSU, Bavaria git a huge share of these federal funds. And you can see that at roundabouts but also railways. In my opinion the advantages are generally true. If you go more rural it might make no sense. Like in the low flatlands of southern Denmark eg.. They replaced all crossings on a priority road by roundabouts. There were no traffic lights because only every 20 minutes a car passes by and you can see them long before because it's flat to the horizon. Then it's a bit annoying to slow down every couple of minutes for nothing. Everything a bit overdone. Finally I want to pass on a british idea on the design of the center of a roundabouts. If you take a look at the roundabouts in your video they are often a bit dull. In southern England gardening companies designed, build and maintained the center. The point is that they have to set up a sign that names the company responsibly for maintaining it. So if they do it good it's an advertisement. If they don't do it right, it's likely not good for their business either. Very smart solution. Best wishes! 🙋‍♂️

Wow, interesting topic. I’m German and grew up near cologne. Like you I knew there are American bases in Germany. But I didn’t know anything about them. Until now, thank you for the great video. As I’m living in Münster in NRW since 20 years I’m more aware of small barracks from UK and Netherlands throughout the city. But over the last 10-15 years they closed and became ground to build new apartments for everyone

My grandfather's parents immigrated to the States from Switzerland. He grew up speaking swiss german in a tiny town in Idaho. My siblings and I still call your Pfannkuchen "fancuchens". I had no idea it meant pancake in german until I took a german class in college. We also called his mom 'grosmeti'. I'm not sure how to spell it. I've since learned that is a way to say grandma in some german dialects.

$5,000 a year in 1963 for college? Must have been Harvard prices. When I was in college and the years 1978 to 1982 it only cost about $5,000 for the entire time for tuition. My dad always often said that college for myself and my two brothers was only $20,000. We were all in college from 1978 to 1986. So I think the cost for 1963 that you're using is a wee bit high.

Indeed, it does not in most countries even most democracies even most western democracies. Canada, New Zealand, UK, Australia, all basically limit free speech to very few. The Aussie constitution, for example, only recognizes free speech rights for those currently in their Parliament and that's basically true for all Anglosphere countries.

@@Anon54387 I know.... I just think it's funny how ppl from these countries don't seem to know this... Will claim they have free speech in their country but will then go on to say that voicing support for The Nazi party and everything Hitler stood for or owning any Nazi memorbilia (this is Germany specifically obviously) is strictly outlawed and you can do prison time for openly making such speech... I of course think socialism, Hitler and the Nazi party and it's ideals are evil, but you can't claim free speech when you forbid anyone from any type of open talk about ideas that you hate.... no she didn't mention this in this video, but did mention it in another video where she also claimed Germany has free speech... Both just can't be true at once.

It does not bother me one bit about you being critical of the USA. This nation has become something that I am not proud of anymore. We have allowed a rich few run the affairs in DC. They occupy the hallowed halls of our failed democracy. They are plutocratic rulers behind big, organized money. I wish that the USA would be like Germany is so many ways. Your government and laws are written in such a way that the robber barons can not take control with their money. New Political parties are easy to start. Your democracy is much more real and vibrant than our donor owned plutocracy. The 99.99% of the populace of this nation have ZERO/NO say in how our government acts abroad. We have no say about the stupid things that the CIA does overseas and in other countries. The CIA creates coups, stirs up trouble in strife in other countries just because the CIA may not like something that is happening in that nation. The people in this country do not want to be a super power by forcing other countries to bow down to the USA. The people of the USA want the nation to become kinder and more benevolent. We want countries to be our friends because of the good things this nation does, not in covert actions that force other nations to do our will or suffer the consequences. Germany has a social-democratic form of government that was written post WW2 that is and was much like the USA's, but better. When your new constitution was written after WW2, the USA was a social-democratic nation. Now, we are a plutocracy, totally run by rich well monied interests. I was stationed in Germany in the Army in 1975 and 76. I was there just a day and was thinking, wow, this nation is so clean and well organized, we could learn many lessons from the Germans.

You are basing it on your perception of Germany not the reality. If Germany were a US state it'd be among the five poorest. There's this perception that Germany is a relatively wealthy place like a Kansas or a Wisconsin when, in reality, it's more like Louisiana or Mississippi. There is a lot of poverty in Germany, also in France.
