This show was so close to real local disco shows that it was barely satire!

As the great Marv Levy would have put it, "What an over officious jerk!" Irv was a pro. Handled it perfectly.

Sketch comedy has always been the best comedy and the SCTV crew were the best practitioners of the genre. It's a bloody shame sketch comedy has virtually disappeared from the scene.

Let's put it this way, it wasn't inadvertent. If it's unintentional, he's in the clear, but it looked intentional to me.

Just also I like to add, he played the three playoff games with the broken leg after the Super Bowl. He was picked for the pro game and he played in that game too.

Sounds like trump selling his ish hats t-shirts shoes i-fts and yes coins and yet this was made over 40+ years ago and now it's not so funny cause now it's real

It's only not funny because Trump still exists and Joe Flaherty doesn't. 😢 No rational human will be caught dead remarking "RIP" to DJT.

Did anyone notice about the naming of Caesar's main assassin in this production (played, natch', by Johnny LaRue [John Candy]) as "Bluto" here? Sounds to me like that was a reversal of the 1960-62 made-for-TV syndicated "Popeye" cartoons in which the sailor man's antagonist / adversary was renamed "Brutus." Now as to how "Bluto's" co-conspirator (Rick Moranis) got named "Cask," well . . . And no doubt LaRue, behind the scenes, wanted to stab Bittman over the way he turned the play into a vehicle for his "comic" schtick.

I was mad as hell. After all I STILL AM A LAKER FAN. He did a very , very great job for us and achieved a lot for our organisation. Don’t know why he went to the Knicks. Just to be clear on this, I like the Knicks as well. I have nothing against them, especially that Ewing, Oakley , Harper, Jackson, Houston, Mason, Starks, Wilkins, Larry Johnson, Kurt Thomas, Sprewell, Camby, Tucker, walker, unit👍👍👍👍I always said back than, and till now: IF THE LAKERS DONT BECOME CHAMPIONS, LET IT BE THE BOYS FROM THE BIG APPLE. I went to THE MADISON SQUARE GARDEN ONCE and couldn’t believe my eyes. It’s LAKERS FIRST THOUGH. Respect to NYC👌
