Kinda surprised the fish didn’t startle and puff up on hitting the camera. I guess it knew what was going on in its surroundings, but even so, animals (and people) get startled by obvious stuff all the time…

It would puff up if it felt threatened but I was calmly watching it without sudden movements. It didn't feel threatened.

It is a black manta or melanistic manta which refers to the white markings on it's belly. It is on the east coast of Australia.
