Lol I used to color my first set of locs but I became obsessive about the lint and would destroy my locs picking it out. I'm on my second set and it's been almost 3 years. As soon as I get home my hair is covered and I am proud to say I don't have a lint problem❤

Dreads are a hair style 🤷‍♂️ unless it is of a tribal Ritual thing like you said. My hair is straight I do consider myself Rasta I’m 55 and think Rasta is about his imperial majesty. If Ras is correct then we don’t need to judge from the outside but rather the inside. Hasn’t that been a problem all along? The judgment of someone by appearance rather than their personal convictions? That’s my two cents. And I self admitted say I’m not a good Rasta as I was raised in a American household with WW2 veterans and was not schooled from a early age in the ways of Rasta It’s either in you from the start or not in my personal beliefs. When a black/ African woman wears straight weaves etc she dose not become another race. It’s a hair style not tradition in most cases.

I just started my loc journey a month ago my stylist said to come every 2 weeks to have my hair washed and retwist and to only let her wash it. Is going every 2 weeks too often & with starter locs, how often should I oil my scalp?
