Wow!! When I first installed my diy micro locs, I had exactly 359 as well. I ended up splitting them and now have 458!

Happy Locing!!! 1. Do not use clarify shampoo more than 1x a month. Dilute regular shampoo in an applicator bottle with water. The locking process naturely dries out your hair and frequently clarifying shampoo may cause breakage. 2.Dilute your conditioner in a hair bottle sprayer 1 part to 3 parts water. Build up in new lockly forming locks is hard to get rid of. (Honestly, I would wait until 1 year mark for conditioner. )

Love your locs!!! I can't wait for them to mature. I also have low density hair so I really appreciate the representation. I plan to install my locs in late June.

@@meditationmama70 Hey! I ended up interlocking on the 1st of July so I'm 3 weeks in. The worry about lower density starter locs is very real but the best one can do is use test sets to their advantage. My mom installed my first set of twists and I ended up with around 210 and it didn't really give me the volume or size I was going for. So after a week, she split majority of the twists in half and I ended up with 373 and I was happier with the size. I didn't have the scalpy look but the volume wasn't really there that much either so I had to forget about that and put my attention on if the sizing was what I wanted. The reality is that you have to give it time to shrink and expand. And the shrinkage is real as well cause at this point, my hair shrunk down to 1/4 of the initial length but its okay because the volume is increasing. I can't lie, I have to remind myself to be patient with the process but its important to remember that everybody's hair is different even though it may be the same 4c hair and that the same sizing will result in a different loc count. The biggest lesson I have learnt is to embrace my individual journey while appreciating others. 🥰

@@skindeepwithabs1367 So for clarity, you did 2 strand twists as your starter locs and will retie using the sisterloc styled interlocking? If so, what will you rotation turning points be, 3 or 4? Also, did you cut your hair into that style for installation or was it already that shape? It is beautiful. Love from the UK.

I believe the brightness you're experiencing is actually from the Pigment Gel - the effects of Kojic Acid & Azelaic Acid (found in the Pigment Gel) are immediately visible on the skin whilst Vitamin is rather preventative, overall. Also, please don't switch to the Pixie Glow Serum - it contains Glycolic Acid which does not make melanated skin very happy & healthy, especially in the long run.

Agree with all of them. Great video ☺️ For me, one more mistake was that every doctor I went to, prescribed products that would dry out my skin, since my skin is oily. And it had worse effects. So I switched to using products that keep my skin moisturized instead and it's so much better. Also to add, diet. What goes into the body matters a lot. And sleep .. which I'm guilty of not getting enough of. 🥲

Yes! I also had the same experience with prescribed products from dermatologists. They tend to be a lot harsher on the skin and can ruin your moisture barrier 🥲 & 100% agreed those are definitely factors that can lead to skin issues. I’m also guilty or not getting enough sleep and not drinking enough water so I’m working on that as well. Thanks for watching 💕
