for about 300 years, if you are pulling shrimp up in a cage and a octopus attaches itself to it, it's considered really bad luck and you must give it shrimp to undo it, i made that up so you guys could have a cool story

Any keeper lingcod is a good lingcod. A few years ago up in Alaska, we were using 3 lb. live kelp bass for bait 30 miles off the coast and limited out with lingcod weighing up to 35 lbs.
