I listen to was young lady had to say it was interesting but I know she couldn’t wait till the essay we need to put aside nationalities we’re looking for the reins of the loss service member white BLACKPINK purple polkadot does make a difference. The person is a service member. Why do you have to interject race as a criteria you’re not objective a degree of subjectivity which takes the issue of looking for the lost airman I’m ashamed that you did this you keep causing this race baiting by your comments. We don’t need that we need to recover his remains to give her animals transportation back to United States and burial. This comes from a former United States Army Veteran.

I had the privilege to meet one of these gentlemen. Went to a funeral wake on the Southside of Chicago. Needed a washroom. Was walking down a hallway past some offices and noticed some pictures on a desk. Some were of a Black pilot. I stopped and was looking in when a voice behind me said, "go on in and have a look." He was the pilot who's picture I saw. A Tuskegee airman. We chatted for a bit. I was thrilled and I believe he was honored and proud that I knew about these fellows.

I think these Tuskegee airmen were referenced in the movie Hart's War, which starred Bruce Willis.

What a Revised History load of BOLOGNA . All of this fake Propaganda created to make African Americans feel under appreciated and abused . Simple Race Baiting Garbage . Like the Movie Red Tails , Where they added a scene where the Black Fighter pilots shoot down 10 German jet fighters . Total Lie . Even out best aces only shot down one or two German Jets.

The Tuskegee airmen were the among the best of the air heroes from WW2. Their bravery and selfless sacrifice was second to none. Well done for searching out this fallen airman, Capt Dickson - he deserves this honour and respect almost 80 years since his demise. Thank you, well done and keep going!

Thanks to the other heroes at DPAA. They brought my closerthanthis cousin home last year after 52 years in Vietnam, in the north China Sea. Their diligence, compassion & belief that everyone deserves to come home from foreign wars and home from the Civil War deserve our appreciation & respect. They bring hope when our govt has forgotten the men & women lost. Thankyou to these women & women.

I want to say how much my family appreciates the work this agency does to bring our soldiers home. I have two great-uncles who are still MIA in the Pacific and we have worked closely with those in the DPAA in hopes of bringing at least 1 of them home. Our family case worker and those higher have been very helpful and we are so grateful for that. I do want to make a suggestion if i may, that for those who can't attend i was wondering if it is possible to make the audio on these livestreams any more clearer? I don't know if it is just a zoom thing, not connected to the audio surround sound for the conference rooms, or volume isn't high enough. Maybe turning on the CC for KZfaq/Facebook would help. Sometimes depending on the speaker you could make out the audio but not always. If this is at all possible to fix i think it would be helpful. Especially for those like my family who aren't able to attend family updates, but want to stay updated on the work of the DPAA. Thankyou so much again for all you do.

A few years ago while on winter vacation in Florida, my wife and I went over to the Naval Aircraft museum in Pensacola. As I was walking to over to where my wife was standing under the Blue Angels jets hung from the ceiling I saw a small man walking with a friend coming towards us. I noticed he had a leather (original issue 1940's) flight jacket on with the Red Tails logo on it. I asked him if he was one of the Tuskegee Airman who fought in ww2. He said that he was and him and I talked for at least 30 minutes about his experiences. It was both an honor and privilege to meet him, I will never forget it.

Nearly a million black servicemen and women served during ww2. They were part of the VV Campaign that stood for victory overseas against a foreign enemy and victory back home for equality. Never forget these heroes. Never forget that these men and women were then ineligible for the GI BILL AFTERWARDS. That was disgraceful. Salute to them,they deserve our gratitude and respect.

The Germans, American and Russians all have active organization out searching for their military dead. WW2 Pilot Lt. William Gary of Kirkland, Washington State had his remains FOUND IN A TREE in a German forest July 2017. . His remains were taken back home for burial. A Hispanic LAUSD administrator spent years of his own time and expense attempting to locate members of his aircrew. He being the only injured survivor having bailed out just before it crashed on a Pacific island. He was the engine that caused the identification of three of them. His story was in Reader's Digest.

The DPAA, two years ago, found my brother in the South China Sea. He went missing from Oct. 1971 during the Vietnam War, (turning 19 years old just a few days before he disappeared.) to his remains being recovered in August 2022. He was buried next to Mom & Dad the following February. They never gave up as he was listed as MIA for decades. The DPAA has not forgotten our missing war heroes, from any war on sovereign or foreign soil. Our government may not care, but they do. Thankyou so much. Never forget our POW/MIA who still remain on foreign soil. Always thank a veteran when you see him or her. It's easy, just walk up & tell them thanks for serving our country.

If he was not shot and just had engine failure don't you think he probably jumped out and was killed at some point later? Either trying too escape being captured or during captivating. Maybe by angry civilians who are angry of all the bombing. Same thing happened in Vietnam. You would hope the soldiers got too you first because the civilians hated you more then the enemy soldiers did.

Tuskegee were put in Italy because, number one, they had to have a legitimate black representation in American WWII history. Second, Italy was not as critical as the northern European theater, and the liberals that arranged their involvement in the war at such a capacity could get away with it at little cost to interfering with missions with larger orders of magnitude. Remember, blacks were not recognized then as they are today, and that had to be mitigated. Another reason blacks could not be used in missions in Germany was due to the fact that their mere presence behind enemy lines would have been a dead giveaway to the Germans of allied presence. In a time when blending in could well save a squads life while shot down behind enemy lines, having a black would have instantly alerted the Germans and got them killed.
@dpeasehead
@dpeasehead Ай бұрын
@IDrone-zk2It: That none critical theater involved hundreds of thousands of men and thousands of war machines and aircraft between 1943-1945. Allowing black people to risk their lives for people whose attitudes towards race were often not any real improvement over their enemies was neither a favor or an experiment. American jim crow and western colonialism were easy propaganda targets for their enemies so the Allies did some face saving window dressing.

Last fall, Chicago media reported the story of the identification of the remains of Lt. Eddie McGuire, a white USAAF pilot, who had been shot down over Romania. We need to honor him along with all the other men and women who gave their lives in hopes of a better world. It is the least we can do to bring his remains home for a decent and very respectful burial. It is the efforts of men like him that have ensured we remain a free nation capable of enriching the lives of not only our countrymen but the people of the rest of the world. I for one salute him and hold him in deep respect.

Tuskegee Airmen are some of the most patriotic and honor deserving American veterans of all time... in my opinion. These men fought for their country... a country that considered them second class citizens. They accepted a huge responsibility, an assignment fraught with unimaginable discrimination and relentless bigotry... and they succeeded. They opened a door for the next generation... and opened the eyes of a lot of other people... opening minds. RIP Capt. Lawrence E. Dickson... You're coming home.

DPAA found my closerthanthiscousin in August of '22., after over 50 years IN the bottom of the South China Sea. They will always be remembered by our family, few of whom are left. They didn't forget their promise, tho most of us were shaken by the news some remains had been found. Many of his fellow Army soldiers were not found in his crash of a Chinook helicopter. He was buried next to his Mom & Dad, who never gave up hope for decades that he was still a MIA. I've made it my mission throughout my life to thank every military veteran I see. Never forget our war's missing. Thank them when you see them. Thank the DPAA . Their's isn't a job, it's a calling. RIP Pfc. Thomas F. Green, Ramona, CA. 1952-1971.
