There is a Theory; That Nicole's mic wasn't actually not working. It's actually the crews from backstage turn off Nicole's mic, so that it makes it like its not working. This way, Nicole not only could snatched the mic off Jahmene's hand, but also could force him to sing midways on every of his lyrics, and share the mic together. In other words: it makes Nicole can steal his stage, his show, his dignity, his performance, and his everything. While Jahmene can look awkward by himself. I feel like this particular performance was only about Nicole instead of Jahmene.

If it's true that her mic was indeed working, then it makes this worse. Idc if she "thought on her feet", she cut him off, and then made him awkwardly trail her looking like a deer in headlights. He was a lot nicer than I would have been about it.
