I used to really enjoy watching this as a 9 year old and was always intrigued with how the intensity of the music matched the scenes, when the violins came in while the little girl was being carried away and screaming always peaked my interest and made me feel really empowered. Okbye

I just bought a pre-owned BEUD at a flea market the other day. A couple of scratches, and missing the beam, but it was $5, so I couldn't resist. It's sitting on top of my bookcase right now. I decided to learn more about it. I found 4 different years that different websites said these were from. It also looks like the 4 in the back was a series, and the 5 in the front was another. (The ones in the back aren't build-it-yourself, afaik.) Smart idea to have Thousand Year Dragon in shadows, because the toy version goes from the wise, grumpy sage on the card to a character on Dragon Tales.

I remember having this commercial on a VHS tape because I had recorded some show off the TV. Let's just say it got rewound a lot. Yes in the pre-internet 80s we made do with whatever fap material we could get.

Back when local TV stations produced awesome documentaries. Today, they can't even put a newscast together without incorporating tonnes of yellow journalism to dominate the program. That's what forces me to turn off the TV on a daily basis. Never knew Bill MacFarlane had a moustache (moved to Calgary in 1991) and Kevin Green is still a reporter now at CFCN (CTV Calgary today). Great photography in this documentary.

I worked on the station job for C.P as a young Machinist Apprentice in the 80s servicing steam generators on A and B units and then going outside to knock off ice and change brake shoes, the Carmen had the thankless job of hooking up Barcos and servicing the cars in winter you had to do it quickly and efficiently or the train could freeze up, the best part was having lunch in Palliser Square, then we would service the Budd car back at Alyth diesel shop, I would never ride the Budd car anywhere, it was a dangerous vehicle, you could just tell.
