Not sure I understand what you mean when you ask if we like REST or if the Umbraco team should have stuck with C#? All the C# services is still there, the Management API is only a "formalization" of the old API controllers used to power the AngularJS frontend with better documentation, swagger support and another way to authenticate. Feels like you are imposing that something was removed which is not the case.

Have you done this with the app router yet? I imagine this will go in the layout.tsx file. Since you used useEffect, it seems like this would be the place to make a client component to handle the clarity package. Thoughts?

How do you return all of the entries for a particular Content Type. eg My Content Type is called 'Songs' but I can only seem to return one entry at a time and can't list all Songs. Great video btw :)

INSIDE 35 : you are taxed 36-55% by the company umbrellas. You cannot deduct anything, not even a paper clip. At the end of the year you will be taxed again by HMRC for the money you have received. So you have to avoid ! Yo can work for a week or two, to make other people richer! Before you sign ask for a payment example !

I agree that TrueDevTools Looks like a great online option for devs regardless of what platform they developer on. FYI, your voice audio is coming out in mono rather than stereo (left ear only) making it a little harder to understand at times but your sound effects are stereo (and louder).

One thing I don't like is that your mouse cursor isn't visible all the time, and to me the part where you are setting up an experiment is not well explained. Is the explanation is to do the experiment on the whole website? If it is will that give me data from all of the categories and sub-categories and pages?

Is the Umbraco 14 backoffice responsive?
@vanmartyr
@vanmartyr 25 күн бұрын
a bit like previous versions, sort-of nearly. I'd say it's not been made fully responsive yet, which is a shame as I've always thought it's already 80% of the way there.
@ParthShah-e8q
@ParthShah-e8q 25 күн бұрын
@@vanmartyr I tried out v14, but since the Backoffice isn't responsive, I won't be migrating just yet. I didn't expect to have to put things on hold because of this, especially since the client updates content via mobile often. This would be the case for many others, for sure.

poor audio unfortunately :( Also, if you are going to a demo, can you ensure the environment is using the standard VS Studio colours, and fonts. Using that fancy script font makes it confusing for people to try and find on their computers.

Yep the levels are not the best, and the video is 480p :( I had one of these dynamic mics. They're hard to control without a carefully adjusted cloudlifter pre-amp, and a good amp, and so much configuration and adjustment! They're so complicated that things go wrong all the time, and they really want an audio engineer. I ultimately sold it and bought a Shure MV7 with the USB interface, and this turned out to be much easier to manage and delivered significantly higher audio quality at a lower cost and lower power consumption. Podcastage has a good review. Apparently they have a USB-C one now. Can definitely recommend :) Thanks so much for putting this content together, I know how much effort goes into it!

I built a Next.js app using Incremental Static Regeneration and fully dynamic routes and App Router - and had Hygraphs webhooks trigger the rebuild when you updated pages content - HOWEVER it would never revalidate until i started using the revalidate api in the PAGES directory. If i used the revalidate api in the APP Router to trigger the rebuild it would just laugh at me. This is on Vercel btw.
@eternl_sunshine22
@eternl_sunshine22 Ай бұрын
how'd you use ISR in app router? i'm using react's cache feature with a revalidate cache triggering every 10 mins or so. seems to work fine for me there is also a way to trigger a revalidation on command, but i didnt go with that out of laziness since it was a personal site.

Hey Jon! Love the content! Had a quick question for you. When running 'dotnet publish' initially, it works great. The site is running on IIS without issue. However, when I'm developing and make changes that require a republish, each subsequent 'dotnet publish' command runs into the following error: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." It seems that closing the browser and recycling the app pool before each publish fixes this issue, but it seems a bit tedious to have to do this every time we want to publish. Have you come across this issue before? And if so, is there a more elegant solution to this? Thanks for all you do!
