I also use fabric gift wrapping called Furoshiki or Bojagi. Very easy to fold the fabric squares and either use them to wrap gifts or wrap boxes or books for decoration purposes. For instance, you can use fabrics with colors to match a room. At Christmas time I use solid red and solid green silk fabric squares together to wrap books and let the petals fall like leaves resembling poinsettia plants. And I reuse them every year for over 5 years now. I lift all four corners/points and tie below like a ponytail with a hair tie or rubber band, then let the points fall like petals. When I’m done I store the fabrics and iron them when I need them again.

So like i probably wont get a response for this.. but does the size of the square have to be exact for these to work? I made boxes of similar size by folding snd cuttin printer paper, if i make a load of those will the 3D origami still work?

Hi Jenny. I am not sure if you are still responding to remarks but I have a question about the measurements. The box that I tried is very flat. It was only 2.5 cm high. I found that I did not quite have enough paper at the end. The box was covered by the two flaps on the bottom did not meet and it looked sloppy. The rest of the measurements are 15.5cm x 13cm. For flat boxes do you have to add a little more paper. If that is the case then for a cube shaped box do you need as much?
