If you are going to rent out an entire theater to watch a movie, I would DEFINITELY choose THIS movie over Mufasa to have the honor of being the movie you watch. I have not even seen them yet, and I can already guarantee this will be 10,000 times more worth your time and money to see. I agree with you...there are musicials and then there are musical masterpieces. 2019's Cats clearly falls in the first category...as does the Lion King. This one is clearly worthy of a masterpiece.

Ok yes they showed A LOT of the main storyline in the trailer but if you REALLY think about it...there's still a lot of story left in Act 1. There's been so many criticism and doubt from [especially] musical fans...this trailer felt like them making a point...this movie is going to be GOOD, Cynthia and Ariana were the right casting choice, we're going to honour the music and give you MORE!

I cried while watching this trailer. Elphaba and Glinda sing part of Defying Gravity in the show lol. I don't think they showed too much. It's a 3-minute trailer for a movie that's maybe going to be 2 hours. They just showed us the basic plot points. I read that movie 1 will end after Defying Gravity. There are things in this trailer that weren't in the stage show, so I think there will be suprises. Where do you think Frozen got some of the ideas lol. Wicked came out first and they had some similar elements. Also, we mostly see Elphaba and Glinda in this trailer. There’s so many other old and new characters to see.
