Currently I am living in Kahibah, NSW and down the road is a home being built by this company or should I say their sub-contractors... sometimes, maybe. Have been here since Jan 27th 2023 and framing was already up.... 8 weeks ago as I write this. Since that time a few tradies made brief 'guest' appearances with very little done. In the mean time we have had rain and blazing sun shine. The timber framing must be warped beyond belief. Further there are ongoing costs for temporary fencing and scaffolding, all no doubt built into the price the poor home owner is paying. Imagine if you were having this home built and having to pay both accommodation and a mortgage. It's just a question of who goes bust first,

what is the difference then between Drop edge beam vs Integrated retaining wall, why & when which is used?

A drop edge beam is where the edge of a concrete slab runs vertically down to the natural ground level, to retain fill underneath the home - and thereby replicating a retaining wall. Whilst it can be used across both level and sloping sites, this technique is particularly helpful for building on a sloping site. An integrated retaining wall sits tight against the external of your house, creating structural protection for your property. This technique is an excellent option to create structural and long-term protection for your home, and to alleviate costs post-handover. We hope this helps!
