Loved the long video! I really appreciate the detailed explanations on how you're juggling your weeks and A6; especially since that's something I've also spent June trying to figure out. I've fallen in love with journaling and planning in my A6, but often find that trying to memory keep in it and the weeks is a struggle. But your video and own process has given me so many ideas for things to try, and what journals I want to use next year! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of this series and working out of the hobonichi :D

I currently love my personal rings for all things functional (even short journaling) but when it comes to archiving them, I so much prefer bound books. So I’ve decided to try and archive my “memory keep” and important things in my bound Hobonichi during the weekend.. since I’ve come to accept that playing with planners is my hobby and therapy. 😂 Do what works for you. Each season may bring different wants, but hey, why not, right? ❤

I honestly love that you chop and change planners because it helps my mind. I don’t have the ability to chop and change planners myself, but I can chop and change systems and how to use the one planner I have. Watching your videos helps my mind because of the system changes. So thank you for your content. No one ever said you had to stick to one thing - you love planner, changing things around is what makes you happy and that what I love about the channel.

You said it yourself - you can’t do what you want to do in it, so it doesn’t really matter about how lovely the Weeks is, or how you can train muscle memory, it’s simply not working, so move on. Might be a useful exercise while you’re hopping around to keep a note of what was working and what wasn’t in all of your books to see if you can spot trends - eg you might find one that didn’t work in summer might be great for what you usually do in February. I think of my planning and journaling as a system (though it took me long enough!) and I adjust it as I need to. And in the mean time, we get to pick up all your great ideas! ❤

Probably the closest to rings would be a travellers notebook with books for each section??? Youve probably used those before.

I was also using hobo weeks as my EDC until June but I felt stuck and stagnant so I switched to A6 bujo. I realized I needed some freedom even in my planners😂! If I crave for structure, I still have my Cousin. Same as everyone else, follow your heart ❤

My plan is to use a weeks mega as my consistent archive. So I can dip into any system I want as often as I want. But every night I need to take 10 mins and fill in the weeks. My hard rule is not allowing the “archive” weeks ever be my edc. It’s simply a on the desk book. So I have zero pressure on not having all 12 months on the self together. Maybe that may help you too❤

Personally I like when you show us your working out and why you are trying a certain system, and that if that system doesn't work out switch to something else. Do what brings you joy. That's what this hobby is all about.

Life has seasons and what worked for you last year, might not work for you this year. I feel you...I was in the Weeks for years and bc I needed more space to track certain health issues and do memory keeping this year, I decided to try the a6 Hon. I both like it and hate it. I like the square format but the lack of the weekly view and the new sanzen paper is driving me crazy with my fountain pens. I will stick it out until the end of the year bc I just like having everything in 1 book, but I started thinking abt switching planners... in March! This has never happened before.😬 now I'm wondering if I should just get a blank notebook next year or get the Cousin. It occupies my thoughts too often tbh.

What we need changes so often, it's completely normal to flutter between several planners because what worked for us in January might not work for us in July! And if you feel in October, you have to move back, that is absolutely your prerogative! Don't be so hard on yourself. I love your videos!! I change my planning style every 3 weeks - and I let it happen, because confinement is the killer of creativity.

I’m usually a lurker and don’t really comment (which I’m trying to get better about!🙈) but I really wanted to let you know that I enjoy watching your content regardless of what book you’re in - and my favourite is probably seeing you experiment with rings tbh. I think if planners are your hobby then it’s natural to want to hop about and you shouldn’t feel guilty for that. I watch for you and to hear your thought processes and feel inspired by your layouts rather than for a specific brand of book you may be in. I’ve tried to force myself to use Hobonichi for 2 years now as I love their products, but I realised this year that it’s too structured for me. I’ve personally moved back into a TN and found peace there, but I was using rings earlier this year and really loved the freedom of it. Go with your heart!

Planning is so incredibly personal, and it isn't always linear, that's for sure. I used a Hobonichi Cousin for over 2 years, and I thought it would be the end-all for me as far as planners go. I found myself back in a bullet journal this year. In theory, the Cousin should be all I need, but something is missing when I am there. I found it when I went back to my bullet journal, and it simply had the next blank page unlocked so much. I am glad you have decided to do what you need! Plus, it will be great no matter what you choose because your pages are always cute! I will always watch your videos no matter!

I agree with all the "follow your heart" comments - lean into the joy! While rings are not for me, I LOVE viewing your rings content because of how creative and experimental you are in them. It does not feel 'wash, rinse, repeat' at all. You definitely seem happiest there as of late. I was going to suggest the idea of sticking to rings for daily use, then aesthetically "backfilling" a bound system as you felt like it since the tactile play is such a part of the hobby for you. (Maybe the same net result, but a different mindset?) But sounds like you got there by the end of the video. So yes, love this direction.

You’ve been a big inspo for me with your layouts and how you organize your data/thoughts - that being said I think your system is rather solid, just the “house” it belongs in can vary from day to day for your needs. Like how we change what we wear from day to day depending on the weather. I believe your system is consistent, but where it likes to stay is not - AND THAT IS OKAY! Cut yourself some slack, do what you feel is good in the moment, and have fun 🫶🏻
@lindseyscribbles3 күн бұрын
I appreciate that! I get down on myself for not being consistent- but you’re right that my system is relatively concrete. Thank you 💕

You know what your heart is telling you. Planning and journaling is such a personal preference thing. You don't owe your viewers 30 days of your life if the thing you are doing doesn't bring you joy. Lindsey, I hope you don’t take this the wrong way but as someone who struggles with mental health, your current situation seems like you’re trying to cover something else going on in your life with planners. I really hope you get help and don’t continue to force yourself through making content that you’re obviously not into making. I’ve been your patreon as well and I have seen that area of your social media struggle as well. You stopped working on your shop content and your videos have an anxiety in them i don’t enjoy. I come to these videos for peace and distraction in my chaotic mind and life and I can feel you struggling. I respectfully will stop watching your content. I can’t continue to not address what I am sure other people have noticed in your content. You deserve the space to figure things out and I think it’s pretty obvious you’re not giving that to yourself by forcing content on any social media platform. Sending you love and best wishes from California 💕

I appreciate your support and I’ve been working on my mental wellness (privately) - I like to think I’m in a way better place now than I’ve been in years. But I don’t mean to make anyone anxious through my videos. I do have anxiety around KZfaq which is part of the reason I haven’t been making videos regularly - but getting back on the horse 😊 Thanks for watching, and your kind words 💕

I agree with this. I stopped watching her content a while ago. This my first time watching again and it's the same thing. Too chaotic and full of consumerism. I feel like you said it's not relaxing anymore. I also feel like she tried to copy Meghan and Kaitlyn grey too much. Even down to her hand movements. I feel like she leaned in too much on the planner hopper and her growth in popularity because of it. Now maybe she feels like she has to do this for content and is stuck. Idk . Just what I've been seeing. Thank you for speaking out. If more people do maybe she will get help.

I’m in thrall of your handwriting. Have you always “skewered” words on the line (I don’t know how else to describe it)? The vertical spacing is gorgeous; you don’t get the same effect when words “sit” on the line.
