It’s been over a year and still no leaks and all of my units are working very well I live in Michigan we had a hard winter and my ABB customers were very pleased with heat and the air

OMG! The top VALVES ARE THE MASTER VALVES AND SHOULD NOT BE OPENED UNTIL YOURE SURE THERE ISNT ANY LEAKS! Don’t connect your pump there. I’m happy I watched 2 other KZfaq guys doing this. Leave top closed, connect pump to one low pressure below , open all other connected to wall units. Then close and open top main valve when vac pressure have no leaks.

I have a similar system with 2 zones, but the top valve (master valve) is not there. How do I proceed with vacuuming? do I vacuum line A, then I can open it, then line B and open that one?

He didn't open it. He hooked up to the evaporator side of the system.

Hi I have a Mr.cool unit 3 heads installed last summer and stop heating/cooling on December. I’m getting pc-03 code I’m not a professional, but I have the same system on this video and this is the only one that shows how to vacuum a multi head system. I need honest opinion is this the way to check for leaks? I’m just a guy with the house please help.

Vacuum sucks air out of the lines and could detect a leak but in high pressure forces high pressure through the lines that separates the flares if they're loose when using the heater is when high pressure is running through the lines that's when I realized I had a leak PC 03 means low or no refrigerant

Hi James. Thank you for sharing. I'm currently working on the 5 zone system. I noticed that you are using a very similar set of gauges as the ones I have. When you started the vacuum the niddle moved to about -10 or -15. When you were done did it reached all the way to -30? I ran mine for about 40 min and the niddle stayed at about -15.

aren't you supposed to vacuum the lines/check for leaks before opening the valves and releasing the refrigerant? Something about your process is horribly wrong.
@machaf

Apparently you have all those who upvoted your comment don't understand how multi-zone mini splits work. Nothing about this process is wrong. You just aren't educated on multi-zones. Refrigerant isn't released until the very top valve is opened; where his vacuum pump is connected.

Hydrogen? R-410.
@JasonEdgar-gr6pi
@JasonEdgar-gr6pi 9 ай бұрын
yea its actually nitrogen, not hydrogen. Its just put into the line and pressurized to insure you have no leaks/debris in transport. The indoor head unit is the same way too and when first opened will hiss at you. The R-410 won't leave the compressor until you open the top valve in this unit and it then moves across the internal manifold into each of the 4 zones (on this unit). If your not using a zone then you don't need to open it that specific value High or low when testing or releasing R-410.

So I have a 2 zone system to install this next week in my house. The outside unit is a three zone, but I'll only be using 2 of those zones. Can Ido this same thing, but only with two of the zones, or should I evacuate all three zones? thanks in advance...
@JasonEdgar-gr6pi
@JasonEdgar-gr6pi 9 ай бұрын
don't open the third zone, it doesnt even need to be tested if your not using it. Keeping it closed just shuts it off from the internal manifold and the other two you have open will be tested and then filled with R-410

Hi James, looks like you pretty much did it per Senville's instructions. Though, it looks like they don't want you to vacuum on the main valve for some reason. These instructions also apply to the other chinese minisplit clones that use the same parts, like Mr. Cool, Cooper&Hunter, etc. "The vacuuming process on this unit must be done as a whole, this unit has a shared manifold, you will need to open up every valve using a Hex Key / Allen Key on all the active ports (the ports that are being used, for example if you are installing 3 indoor units, there will be 3 active ports and 6 valves that must be opened). Connect your equipment to any active low side service valve and pull a vacuum, if you are considering a pressure test please do so before pulling a vacuum. Once you are confident that the vacuum is holding and no leaks are evident, only then you should go ahead and open up both master valves with a Hex Key / Allen Key to release the refrigerant.Installation Guideline For SENA/ 36HF/MOZ"
