I LOVE the idea of a spending "freeze" versus a "no buy"! I feel like the "no buy" mindset can instill a sense of guilt if that challenge is not met. With the cover you got, like you said, it was a great deal and if it's something you feel that will benefit you somehow, you can "unfreeze" the no spending. Thank you for sharing! P.S. Don't feel guilty! You're still totally allowed to "treat yourself" - it's all about moderation, not cutting things out completely. ;-)

I am late I know, but maybe for next time: in order to fit your book into the sleeve you could washi-tape something like a postcard to the back of your book and slide it in this way. Or something more size-appropriate but as thick as a postcard. Ive seen someone doing this to a travelers notebook insert in order to fit it into the Galen Leather TN Wallet. I really enjoy your videos by the way- very functionl and beautiful set-ups.

I have an undated a5 Sterling ink that I can use as a journal for 2025, and I have notebooks that I can use for my fun planner projects. Everything was on point! I experienced burn out. Currently setting up my personal strings. I stopped all subscriptions last year! I refuse to spend $600 a year on someone else's commercialized creative team, although beautiful I am just as creative when I can sit down and rest. I am also doing a no spend for the rest of the year starting in June. I have watched your consumerism video and it was also on point!! I love your videos and look forward for more! I love this video. I had planner burnout earlier this year. I realized that I did not need all of the "things." I believe I found my system, which is a journal, Aura Estelle A6 as my planner, and my TN as my Gratitude Journal/Prayer book. I am trying to use what I have. You are absolutely right where our focus needs to be🩷

Great video! ❤ good talking points! I have a planner for appointments and work. I use Carpe diem. It is predated but if I want to use stickers or stamps I certainly can and add them! I don’t keep my planners so It is decorated minimally because I throw it away- but I need color :) my monthly calendar I keep for my work metrics. I have an annual spreadsheet for a budget. Easy Peasy! I do have a B6 that has a notepad in it/semi decorative with dashboards. My focus is memory keeping. I use a Cocoa Daisy memory planner and/or TN or A5 paper. If I have leftovers than I will use that to decorate my planner. Always try to destash but if you are bored and if you can afford it, try something new! ❤

This was a nice relaxing video to watch with my morning coffee. Good luck with the bullet Journal experiment. My Bullet Journal experiment lasted for 4.5 weeks. My biggest issue came down to not being able to properly future plan or see the week as whole. If I ever try a Bullet Journal again I'll buy something like the DayFree that has the months all done in advance and then maybe a master todo list for the week from where I then distribute tasks to the day I'm currently in. I'm now in a Hobonichi Techo A6 and like how I can set todo tasks to the correct day in advance. Looking forward to see how your Bullet Journal experiment goes.

I don’t go in stores anymore for planner stuff. I do OCCASIONALLY go to hobby lobby and Michael’s, but not very often, so I can’t say anything about them. But I shop online at the small businesses. I think the memory making/ journal community things is moving to online stores, that specialize in stationery. It’s pretty sad, but at least online I know how much I’m spending before checking out. When in stores, I always worry about my spending on stationery.

Michael's decided to stop carrying a wide range of planners under new management. I didn't know about JoAnn filing banruptcty. (I won't shop at Hobby Lobby so I don't follow them.) We have another chain called Craft Warehouse that carries planner supplies seasonally. I buy a lot of my planner supplies at Oblation, which is a locally-owned stationery and printing shop. They carry a bunch of planners, including Hobonichi (which is what I use), as well as washi, stickers, and pens.
