I use my calendar on my phone. Everything goes on there. Even reminders. It’s a game changer. Used to do the physical one, but my hubby was always hit and miss. So now he tells me and o put it on my phone. That way it’s always with me for appointments that are follow ups that are made outside the home too

I just had to add a third hard drive to my computer...just for my photos. 18 years of digital photos 🤭

Absolutely Meal Planning ❤ That would be amazing and relieve so much stress and pressure on me!! If someone wanted to form a meal plan for 6 months with recipes that I could just print off, that would be golden!!! The struggle is absolutely real when you are are 40yrs ago and adopted 3 siblings that all ended up being autistic with severe mental health and behavior problems!!! On top of the fact that I have severe health issues that affect my daily living physically. So absolutely having a done for me 6 month meal plan would absolutely be a life saver in so many ways!!!

I save my empty cube facial tissue boxes and keep one on top of my dryer to put the lint in. When it is full, I just throw the whole thing away!!

I have read that the modern dishwashers are worth running even if there are only 8 items in it, because the DW uses less water than handwashing those 8 items. I don't know if it is true, but it makes me feel better to run a less than full dishwasher, now!! Plus, an over-loaded DW doesn't get the dishes as clean as you would like to think.

I have a bin for unmatched socks that I keep on my dryer. After every load, I put any unmatched ones in there. Gives me one place to look that's handy & where I fold clothes. Plus, the kids like to play "match the socks" every once in awhile to see how many matches they can find in the bin. Lol

I use contacts in my phone to take notes-if a friend's parent or pet dies, favorite colors, health issues, gift ideas etc.

Love the idea of adding consequences to your reminders. Also, I haven't fully converted to a digital list. We have a whiteboard on the fridge (which is also about the center of the upstairs). The dry erase marker is attached with an elastic cord. We add things to the list. Then I can write them down or (more often) take a picture of it before I leave. If I forget and someone is home, they can take a picture and text it to me.

are you a bee? Many of your hacks and the visuals in the video look like a "Bee". I bought these tiny 1 inch boxes with five compartments to keep my stud earrings seperated.

Great tips. I could never leave my washing machine etc on standby overnight, that’s a fire hazard.

My hack for not losing socks in the wash is to use large mesh lingerie bags. No roaming socks and they can go in the dryer in the bag. You can also corral undergarments for littles by using one bag per person, so the post washing and drying sorting is much easier. I'm going to try the parmesean cheese lid on the mason jar tip.

There is an Alexa app that you can use on your phone to access your shopping list at the store

For veggies and fruits, once I get home I wash and cut them all up so available right away and tends to be eaten before they go bad. Plus I bring them out at family meals

Wow! Thanks for all the ideas. Probably the one I will implement most is the reminder phone list where you list the consequences of what will happen if you don't go through with the task.

If I could get a cleaner for 4 hours for $100, I'd be all over that. Lucky to get an hour for that here.

Dishwasher - use the light cycle and turn off the “heated dry” option. If pots and pans are too dirty, use the normal cycle but keep that heated dry option turned off. Heated dry is a waste of energy and makes the cycle longer.

Great video! No dishwasher for me. I do the dishes immediately!! I hate having dishes sitting in the sink that are dirty.

I buy the loose spices in the market to fill my jars instead of buying jars w spices. It was a bummer during Covid the self serve was shut down but most are up now.

When our dishwasher isn’t full at night I go find all of the things that need to be washed but often get missed..so think the tray under a water/ice dispenser, parts of your coffee maker, water bottles, trays under soap dispensers or decor, microwave turn table, etc. I can usually fill it up the rest of the way with those things!

Just found you, as I have signed up to join you guys in September. My whole home needs decluttering, so I like this reverse decluttering strategy. I just find it so overwhelming on my own, and I have no one I would ask for help. xxx

While I love rainbow order, I just can't bring myself to order my books according to the color of their covers - ugghh!! I have certain authors that I have to organize their books together, in order published, and of course specific genres that have to go together. I am currently ONLY into acrylic and (some) white bins. Every once in a while I declutter bins and put them up for freecycle donation…..they are always claimed INSTANTLY!!

Great video! Thanks for the Organizing conference! This will be my first time. I'm living in chaos right now because I've been decluttering. My biggest obstacle is not being able to take stuff places. I spent $368 just to have stuff hauled away. Now I'm stuck😢

I have 3 big storage bins of pictures and tons of pictures that I inherited from my parents. I inherited their house, siblings did not want to mess with them. We were all together on the 4th of July at my house and I got a bin out for us to go through.
