What a stupid video with the clickbait headline "CD Player Repair" and not even showing the actual repair... Just rename the video "I fixed CD tray jam, but i wont show you, because i couldnt bother recording it"...

Thaks for the upload. Just bought a DA-7000 at a yard sale and it would not eject. Watched the video and replaces the belt with my gfs small rubber hairband. I just shoved it (gently) between the wheel and it´s fixation pin (if that makes sense) since it allowes some play. I do know that this has the potential to damage the rubber band but this it for testing only and it worked. The tray opens but snaps back instantly though. Sadly this unit does not play the cd but only counts up the number of songs and there it rest so to speak. Probably bad laser.

Not long ago i had this same issue with my Sangean HDT-1X (i bought it used from eBay, worked great for a few days), i was listening to an HD channel and all of a sudden it dropped HD and went to analog and the HD was flashing, and then the analog faded as well, no station would come in, AM was also completely dead. Turned it off and back on and it worked for around a minute and did the same thing. Unplugged it and plugged ot back in and still did the same thing. I was researching around the web and ran onto the polk forums where someone bought a Sangean HDT-1 and had the same issue, he took the top off and pressed on each wiring connector and tried it and it no longer had the issue. So i took the top off pulled and reseated all the wiring connectors in mime and its been working flawlessly ever since. So its either just a dodgy internal wiring connector and or something related to heat that effects said wiring connectors after a bit of time after so many power cycles, I'm thinking it very well could be a dodgy connection on the wires that send power to the tuner board. If you still have this, open it up and gently pull (as you do not want to rip a pin from the board) and reseat the wiring connectors on the boards.

@@Blacklight8001 it's still going strong after I did it. And after I did it I left it on for 4 days straight without issue, now I have it on for around 8-9 hours a day and it's been trouble free. I can only take a guess that it's going to eventually happen again later down the road if it is indeed due to heat and expansion causing the connections to either create a dead spot on the pin/connector, or connector creep. If or when it happens again I'm going to remove each cable connection and give it a dose of Deoxit D5. The only thing I didn't do was separate the two smaller boards in the middle of the case (they are connected together by pins and a pin header that push together). I really hope it does fix the issue you're seeing.

Underneath the gear that was spinning is a small black gear which is apparently cracked and not turning as it should to unlace the tape. The shaft is spinning but the gear is not. You can try to epoxy the gear or there are some 10 tooth white gears for remote control cars that will work as well.

You won’t get shocked by 12VDC but kudos for being careful. It’s been 4 years but you might find it very beneficial to eliminate the 194 incandescent bulb and install an LED of the same wattage for 5 times more light. 194 is 3.75W and 25 lumens. I actually used a 87mW LED flood in the kitchen areas. About 65 or 70 lumens iirc

Use 90% isopropyl alcohol. Not ethanol. Dont use paper or towels with lint that can be deposited on the video heads. Now if there was a way to safely clean mold off the actual tapes, that'd be awesome. Ivr had to throw out dozens of VHS tapes due to mold growing on the tape itself.
