I waited on Mr. MANCINI when he was the headliner SAHARA TAHOE in 1968... I was a shy teenage. waitress and he seemed like a shy gentleman. I was Starstruck because of my Breakfast at Tiffany's devotion. MY MOTHER SAID NEVER MAKE A STAR FEEL LIKE THEIY ARE A STAR. I Worked with many stars in filming and always remembered that advice to the point of Ignoring the presence.

The fact that jazz was and is a 'cult' meaning the audience too small to support groups like this could not sustain staying together as a working unit is a shame. We, of course will never know the music that could have been under better circumstances. As far as this piece goes to my ears it hints at jazz fusion, but far superior to anything Miles did with it.

I met Tom Rush when he was living in Santa Barbara my hometown of 60 years. We started talking and David Crosby butt in very rude, Tom is such a gentleman. Joni wrote this song and usually I don't like any songs of hers that other people play. But this is one exception. I've always loved both of them thank you for sharing

I remember as a kid flipping channels in the late 50s....early 60s ...on a Friday or Saturday night when my parents were out....I came across some somewhat sophisticated “grown up” tv shows with music like this...Mr. Lucky comes to mind. Dave, not Eileen in Omaha

Listened to this for years without knowing that the CD was mastered with the tape running fast, resulting in the pitch being just under a half-step sharp. Ethan Iverson pointed this out online the other day. There have been multiple CD releases, but mine matches the soundfile in this video, and was produced in the late 1980s or early 1990s by XYZ music in Germany.
@RomulusReemus Жыл бұрын
Funny I was just trying to play along and discovered the same. Assumed they were playing it a half step up from the sheet music I have.
@tedgangersongs9 ай бұрын
If the tape had been running fast, the normal playback speed would have resulted in the pitch being flat. So if it's sharp here, the tape must have been too slow.
