Had the FRX for a couple months. Never quite felt agile enough in them. After some research, I discovered it was because my shell was too big. I was basically sloshing around in them. So I upgraded to the FR1 Deluxe with a downsized shell. Purchased some Endless 90s, and haven't looked back. FYI I have 285mm left foot and 280mm right foot, and went with the EU42. Super tight at first. It took several heat molding sessions, and 'stretching' the liners to get them to mold to my feet.

I don't understand why you guys are recommending some skates which you haven't even worn. Like the IQON CL15. You appeared not to have worn it or even know if it was rockered immediately, which anyone who actually uses a skate would know.

Hey guys, I'm rediscovering Inline Skates with 36 and am currently struggling with sizing. Bought a pair of FRX and a Zoom Nova, both of which leave me with pretty painful pressure spots on my knuckles so I can't skate for days. Any advice? Is this normal? (I gotta say I've been skating quite long after getting them) Any afvice whats a good starting time if you hadn't properly skating for years?

I tried spacers back in the day and they never fit right. So I just would crank down the axle nut until the wheel started binding, then very gradually backed the nut off until it would spin freely. Also this is hardly a new invention, depth gauges have been around since before electronics were invented. Also that little square rod that sticks out the back of your calipers is exactly that, a depth gauge. So this gadget is redundant.

IMO 70mm wheels would be perfect. Still low to the ground like 60 but more speed thanks to the +10mm extra while altogether not looking too bulky. Great idea thou as not everyone wants or needs to do hardcore tricks with aggressive skates and the occasional jump and slide is enough.

This is one of the few content on the FR SL Freeride. Is it cause, as stated, that stock is still extremely limited for anyone to get their hands on it? I also wish there was more unbiased content on the Sam Crofts like this, not made by powerslide. I have my reservations about powerslide's build quality and want to be proven wrong.

I think one unique selling point for Crofty's hc evo is that the frame is an 80mm frame but it's a bit longer, making it low for control but long enough for someone with a larger foot - side note, i think this is the first time anywhere i've been able to see that there are cross braces on the bottom side of the frame between the wheels, so i imagine that would aid quite significantly in its stiffness and responsiveness. No idea why no one seems to have mentioned that before. Feels like PS engineering and marketing need to sit closer together perhaps!

I have always said my second favorite liner of all time is the USD base, that came in my Aeons several years ago. I image its the same, or essentially the same as the one in the zoom. It is ever so slightly behind my intuitions for my favorite, but it is close. closer than it should be for a $25 vs $220 liner (US Dollars). I have tried a lot of liners in search of the perfect one too. Reigns, RL1s, almost all of the power slides, them stock, razors, M12s stock, Standards. Love the USDs, perfect amount of padding and good heel lock padding in the back.
