Video is good! The comparison is flawed. The realtree suit has arms out providing better background; better blend into environment. Mossy OB has a arms against body. That creates the illusion that realtreee is superior?

I do agree that the “dummy” shape will affect the way it stands out. It would be ideal for me if all of them were exactly the same. Since they are set up and taken by so many different photographers the constancy is hard to keep. In some cases, the pants and jackets from the same brand are taken in different lighting and appear different. Thanks for the comment. I am trying to improve always and moving forward I am trying to find examples that match shape.

I use this camo when I go rucking, and my 2 companions were less than 20 feet away from me and could NOT distinguish me from the soil and mixed trees around us. It performed better than their Multi-cam patterns.

I have the manual and will check if that is even needed on this machine (different machines might need it) . The pistons that pushed the pads into the disk to apply the breaks were in the same housing as the fluid reservoir/diff case. When i would start the machine, I would press the break petal and feel the hydraulics kick in and stiffen the petal.

It's an excellent looking Camo for sure, similar to MARPAT but superior in my opinion, only thing, $189 is insane expensive for the pants and $189 for the shirt!, way out of my budget.

It may be one of the most advanced camo designs out there. The designers depth of knowledge on colors, reflection and the how its design adapts to the is surrounding environment may be the best in the biz.

From what i have learned in my research is that you can’t go wrong if you are “close” to the general color of the environment. Check your fabric for UV brighteners, have a little foreground and background cover and move as little as possible.

You hit the nail on the head! The ditty I learned for camouflage was COMPSSST - Color, Outline, Movement, Position, Shape, Shadow, Shine, Texture. Positioning yourself in a shadow with something to break up your outline will make almost any camo work as long as it is reasonably colored. Great video!

Stands to reason! You give some great advice here regarding ambush location vs. pattern. Thank you for enduring the warm temps. Where I live in the mid-west, this would be spring turkey season and maybe early bow season for deer. On bright sun shining days, I try to stay aware of where the sun is, how it is hitting me, and where my shadow is. Another lesson I learned some years ago was to keep an eye on my gun barrel as well. I had a big gobbler dead to rights...until he took off as hard as he could go. I wasn't sure what went on etc. After replaying it over in my head for about 10 minutes, I realized...my gun barrel on my shotgun was reflecting the suns light and he must've saw the movement from it. I started using a shotgun with a matte finish that doesn't reflect and haven't had the problem since. (Or I'm more aware of it.) Again thank you for sharing.

Hey, terrific video and detailed explanation.I was wondering if this applies to a Husqvarna 120 mark II. I recently removed and replaced the clutch and sprocket as you showed (with the punch on the reversed threaded assembly and blocking up the spark plug gap with spare pull rope) but now I think my oil is not lubricating the chain. There’s not much DIY documentation on the 120 as it’s an entry level saw, but I use it as my beater saw in the deep woods and it gets quite abused. My Echo and Stihl have plenty of online resources for repair but not my Husky. Any suggestions?
@CamoMatrix
@CamoMatrix Ай бұрын
The pump could be different but if the worm gear in the pump isnt catching that could be a problem. the pickup tube could be blocked in the bar chain oil compartment also.
@citylumberjack8381
@citylumberjack8381 Ай бұрын
@@CamoMatrix Hey! Thanks for the quick response. I checked the exterior port where it feeds into the bar slot/oil hole and cleared any sludge. I’ll have to empty the oil from the tank and check that as you mentioned. I will also look into the worm gear. Thanks for those suggestions. I took a peek at an exploded view of the parts on on an online parts website. I may try to disassemble another decommissioned 120 that I own (and have been slowly removing it’s working parts and putting into in my working 120) to see all the involved parts and see if there’s a clog somewhere in there. I will first run the saw with the bar off as you displayed near the beginning of your video to determine if it’s clogged before or after the tank. No point in removing parts unnecessarily. Do saws’ bar and oil tanks have a filter inside the tank like the fuel does? Or it usually just accessible from the clutch/sprocket area as you demonstrated?

But for that environment, the leaves are the best. The color Gilly you chose is awful. If you would’ve used the brown one you may be better off, but that green stands out with the monks the brown leaves that’s falling during the fall you must match your surrounding.
@johnharley7290
@johnharley7290 Ай бұрын
In that environment, the color gilly really matters, but I would go with the leaves it doesn’t snag if you’re buying cheap Gilly suits off-line they never worked the way you want them to go ahead spend about five $600 and get industrial sewing machine look up how to make a real Gilly suit and the knitting the burlap nylon thread nylon surplus suits, then get fish netting and 550 power cord and look up it. Look it up from there.

Unpopular opinion but camo from head to toe plus pack is a little unnecessary. I’ve done fine with solid earth tones and the occasional mil surp BDU pants. I’m also not a huge fan of Eberlestocks camo. I came here to see the difference between the three and there’s not much lol
@CamoMatrix

Yes, experiments I do show that many camos looks very similar and playing the light, shadow and surroundings (foreground and background) are your best bet. Buying a hunting garment to keep you hunting longer more comfortably should be a priority over the particular pattern. Hunting camo does affect the psyche of the hunter and if one feels confident in it, then confidence goes up in the hunt. If one blames their camo for your failure, perhaps other there are other issues. Solids have been used successfully for much of the human existence, if you got a good thing, keep it going! Thanks for the comment!
