"Can I borrow a feeling? Can you lend me a cup of love? Broken hearts need some healing, take my hand in your glove of love". Not in this vid, but that IS an awesome song LOL

So I looked up what saltpetre is, and it seems it was used for... gunpowder? What the hell. 😂 Not sure that was how they made chilli in Burns's day...

It's a theory (kinda true) that the Marines would give the recruits salt peter so they wouldn't get horny while at boot camp

23:36 Al Jean said on the DVD commentary that this is one of their best episodes. Dustin Hoffman voiced Mr. Bergstrom but didn't want his name on the final credits. James Brooks wrote the note that was handed to Lisa as Mr. Bergstrom left paying homage to film The French Lieutenant's woman. There was also a tribute to The Graduate in the episode. This episode was produced by geniuses.

Sunday evenings were essential to be at home to watch the Simpsons as a kid. I remember watching the first one, and then I probably didnt miss one for years. 1800 every Sunday night we all sat down and watched the Simpsons together as a family. And then they went to 2 on Sunday with a new one and then a repeat. It was sooooooo good to watch them all from the start.
