You should try a Harley Davidson type jack. That looks risky, people will be walking next to bike and it goes flying into the wall, backing it up, you need to be a powerliftter. My bike is 22 years old and I would not risk it on that, if I bought a 40k new bike, no way. Not to be rude, the accident videos would be funny if no one was hurt.

@@RidingandWrenching I did not say to post accident videos, not being rude, that jack looks like one waiting to happen, I would just get a jack you put under the bike and not have to roll it on or off, people can’t use the clutch while sitting on the bike, let alone walking next to it. Just notice yoju had a helper with you.

Movie mistake #1; When the person hopped on the back of the motorcycle, I was wondering the same thing. At first glance of the bike, it looked totally like a solo seat. When they got off, there was barley any room for a passenger. When the guy took off on the bike, he took up the whole seat. 🤔🤷🏾‍♂

I liked the movie. I was very interested in the bikes and the story. I ride with a modular helmet and recently an airbag vest. Protective gear will save you from dying on someone windshield. I have no desire top be a bug splat on some ones car . The vivid depiction was enough to convince me to wear the modular helmet and other gear all the time. Kind of a bummer though because feeling the wind in my hair and on my arms is exhilarating. It is less so with all this gear on but I want to keep riding so I will wear it.

Cue thanks for the review. A question came to me whilst watching - " Are you a motorcyclist or a biker? If so is there a difference and what is it?" Just throwing that out there. Also, I'm curious about the "wrenching" in buying a Tesla🤣 I'm looking forward to the impression you get from the rental.
@RidingandWrenching
@RidingandWrenching 5 күн бұрын
There is always wrenching to do! All machines break! However there are a lot fewer moving parts. I'm most interested in learning how we have to think differently to drive electric vehicles. As an example, the biggest mistake I made on the first half of my trip was "overcharging" the battery. We can't thing of it a charging stop like a gas stop. At a gas stop, you fill it up. At a charging stop, you ensure you have enough energy to make it to the next charging stop. It saves time doing it the right way! There are some who say there is a difference between being a "biker" vs a "motorcyclist". Personally I think there are varying degrees of a biker. There are some that are much more hardcore than others: maybe their only transportation is a motorcycle or some other extreme scenario. I don't have the long history that many do, so I don't have the same attachment to the terminology. I ride a lot (abt 25,000 miles a year) which is more than most but not anywhere near as many as some (Ksolo and others). To me, a biker is anyone with a passion for motorcycles. I won't judge someone who rides fewer miles than I do (I don't want to be judged either!) besides "motorcyclist" has 5 syllables! That's too much! Biker rolls off the tongue easier!😂

To quiet it down in neighborhood use 1 gear higher than should for the speed.....when I had loud bike I would come home at 25 in 3rd I would have no problem riding behind you, its a myth that it loud back there, its loudest sitting on top of those loud pipes......I can't take it, I keep pipes stock for my comfort, but I can ride behind straight pipes without bothering me in the least Not only is it safer being behind another bike but being behind a loud bike, loud pipes DO save lives......lotsa bright lights do too My brother and cousin big on loud pipes.......now they hardly ever ride, my brother always wanting to ride oneofmine......he has '89 and '13 Sportsters, both loud, and an old zuki with stock pipes he rides when he rides because he can't stand getting on them loud pipes
@RidingandWrenching
@RidingandWrenching 5 күн бұрын
I can't ride behind straight pipes. It's painfully loud when they are accelerating and just as intolerable idling. My bike wasn't as bad as a straight pipe, but it was pretty darn close. I ended up changing the baffles which quieted the motor a bit....not stock level, but at least it is now tolerable. I agree that sitting on a loud bike is tough. The 1 road trip I did with this setup was miserable.

Great video with a lot of good considerations to take into account if you’re thinking about upgrading your wheels. I will put two things out there. #1. Your miles you travel vs. what the odometer says could be because the standard in the US says that motorcycle gauges only have to be within 10% of true value. That means that your speedometer and miles may be off by up to 10%. #2. Is that your front wheel is on backwards. If it was on the proper way your 90 degree valve stem would be pointing the right way. The tread of the tire is made for water evacuation. The tips of the tread in the center of the tire should make contact with the road first and then force the water through the channel and out the side of the tire. The way yours is currently installed would actually force water into the center of the tire and could be a hydroplaning hazard while riding in the rain.
@RidingandWrenching
@RidingandWrenching 4 күн бұрын
The wheel is mounted on the bike correctly. The stem is facing the wrong way. It will be an easy fix. I double checked my tire. The directional arrow on the sidewall indicated I have it mounted correctly.
