Please can you send me a link to the stabilising liquid you used?

I use Cactus Juice, here is a link to the resin and accessories. We also have a really great informational video on the process of stabilizing given by the owner/founder of Cactus Juice on my stores KZfaq page @TurnersTv , it is in the "live videos" section :-) www.turnerswarehouse.com/collections/cactus-juice

What a lot of Bull shit. The bitumen on the pavement would be liquid, actually flowing. Humans could not handle heat like that. Where I live we regularly have summer temperatures in the high 40s C (117 *- 120 *F) . The bitumen on the roads melts, birds drop from trees dead. Nobody ventures outside unless absolutely necessary. You need to have your thermometer recalibrated.
@ChadSchimmelКүн бұрын
The temps were pushing 120 F that day and we tested it cause the surface of the pavement was literally burning our feet through the soles of our shoes. Overnight lows in the 90s It's nuts here and yeah no-one ventures out unless absolutely necessary.

What type of wood is this, and what are you doing in this video? Is this the first step in making spectraply, also have you considered turning Kendamas? There's a whole community of Kendama players that pay a premium for american made hand turned damas.

Would you recommend this for a beginner? I’ve used a lathe a handful of times, I am dying to get my own lathe. Just want one that I won’t “outgrow” too fast.
@ChadSchimmelАй бұрын
This is an older video and it was a good lathe for me while I had it for sure! My favorite lathe to recommend to folks currently is the Record Power Herald as it has a lot of features that make it good for beginners but also one that you can grow with as you progress in your making, and it is a good price for what you get. I turned on the Herald for several years and then upgraded to their bigger machine but almost everything I turn now could be turned on the Herald. If you are on a budget, a really good way to look for lathes is by joining your local woodturning club as folks are often upgrading and selling their used but perfectly good lathes. (you can also keep your eye on marketplace, craigslist, offer up etc) Watching/reading lots of reviews helps a lot too while you are deciding what lathe is right for you
@GeechiesАй бұрын
@@ChadSchimmel would that be the 16006 that you are referring to for beginner lathes? Thanks for the input, my local wood turning club hasn’t had a sale yet, one coming soon so I am most definitely keeping that in mind as well!

Looking at this for helpfull tips for ring turning. Instantly seeing someone do the one thing ya shouldn't. xD Don't wear gloves while working with a spinning machine part. Even the thin plastic ones can pull ya hand in... when they get caught.
