Is there a way to reduce the size of it on my screen? My laptop is on full res, but I have to scroll down for the bottom part and the virtual keyboard. I also can't see the full left and right at the same time.

Hello, would you recommend to install the intrument on the pc and the content (sounds) on an external HDD? Or something different?

Just as a word of caution, before you use anything to create your own sampled instrument (or sample packs or loops), read the license that came with your product (whether your product is physical hardware or software). I don't have any hardware to check, but I know that many software companies (such as UVI) explicitly forbid you from using their software to create any instruments, sample packs, loops, etc. For example, you cannot use UVI's Falcon to generate tones using sine wave oscillators and then create an instrument or loops using those tones. Always read the license to ensure your usage is covered by the rights granted to you.

Really well done Sebastian. I had no idea that Halion has so much more to offer for developers than NI Kontakt. Not just scripting wise but also the macro designer and the way you can build an instrument. Mental !

I have Pro 13, but when I downloaded it- it says I have No license!! I cant even use Halion 7!! Doesnt that come free with Cubase Pro 13?

You can use X-Stream for free in the free HALion Sonic 7 which comes with Cubase, but you need to get a separate license. Please go to this page, click on "Get X-Stream for free" and follow the instructions: www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/x-stream/

I have Cubase 13 pro , downloaded this and it says I dont have a license to use it!! What the heck?

HALion 7 is not included in Cubase Pro it is a separate product. But Cubase comes with HALion Sonic 7 and lots of content & instruments to start with. There are also a lot of additional free instruments available here: www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/free/

Ha! I just received my actual Hangdrum today! What an amazing instrument to play and the sound is so serene. I wanted to buy one for almost 10 years!! And now I see this plugin released which has a great sound and the layering is pretty interesting. But now I rather use the real deal and layer sounds on it if I want. But for anyone no so lucky to have a physical version on this instrument this is the next best thing. And I used plugins before too.

I record some strings and I used Modulaton on the keyboard for the last note. But when I press play, it's ok until the end where the voleme go down due to the modulation. And if I want to play it again, the volume is on 0 because of the modulation. I don't know why. Maybe you could help me^^ (Sorry for my english, I'm french^^)

I thought the same thing. I’m still going to purchase the plugin though for the time being and use the settings to adjust the sound and try to get as close to the real thing as possible. Eventually I’m going to purchase a real pan drum.

Get one or even two Akai MPD218 little 4x4 pads to play these types of instruments to get out of the sounding like a keyboardist rut. They don't cost much and have a great tactile feel and are surprisingly responsive.

Sounds awesome. The problem is though, when people use this, it's going to sound the same and be obvious where it's sampled from - so for background stuff for videogames maybe not an issue.

Great. Please port Halion and Cubase to run on GNU\Linux. MS Windows has serious stability issues with older pro audio gear these days and Mac is super expensive.
