I am trying to program a wireless number keypad for my legacy 496cd. Does anyone know what is the opener id# for legacy 496 cd?

This is the same clicker and door brand I have. I followed the instructions, but it's still not working. Is the garage door supposed to be closed while doing this? It's hot so mine's open. But nothing seems to be working and I don't know what I'm doing differently. 😕
