The N97 seems to have taken the place of new kid on the block with it's superior GPU.
@LivingLinux2 күн бұрын
Intel lists the N97 at 12W, while the N100 is listed at only 6W. Now we know that Intel TDP listings are bogus (probably at base clock, not at turbo), but it does indicate that the N97 consumes a lot more electricity. And that probably means that you also need a heavier cooling solution.

Great that Pinokio is now available for ARM 👍 - only, running all that pretty heavy AI stuff on the CPU(s) only? No wonder it takes ages... but, why? This thing does have an NPU, after all - okay, it may not quite be designed for stuff like this ☝, but it doesn't make much sense to me that it's supposed to be absolutely impossible to offload at least _some_ of that ton of computation onto it... And even if this doesn't work, there is at least ONE AI project existing that I've heard about a bit ago (if only I could remember which one...), where they shoved off the heavy lifting onto the 3588's Mali GPU, at least, and thereby speeding it up by an order of magnitude or two... It's almost like NVidia were onto something when they started to let people run all kinds of stuff on GPU 🤷♂... and here we are, not even getting working _graphics_ acceleration on the Mali _graphics_ chips after _years_ of the 3588 being around, without weeks of digging through forums and all, just to get _just_ the right combo of library versions and drivers going _by compiling all that stuff yourself_ (a problem that somehow doesn't seem to really have changed since the days of the Allwinner A20, with on-chip Mali graphics, on that BananaPi I was poking at for a while, a _decade_ or more ago)... <rant> And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, has always been my pet peeve with all so-called 'Raspberry Pi killers' up to now: without _working_ support for the basics first, like GPU acceleration and such, and the board's specialties, like that NPU, a bit later, *all bundled in with the distributions,* they all will probably get nowhere... </rant> **...ahem...** sorry, but that just had to get out...

Accessing the NPU of the RK3588 is not so easy. And even AMD GPUs are not fully supported. These things take time, and the developer community for the RK3588 is not that big. Hello, for those who have a problem at first, the device does not start. I had no light, it was impossible for me to turn on the device. I managed to solve the problem thanks to the last page of the installation guide, it was necessary to install the uf2 firmware which is displayed on the guide: (Check to end page of the guide for download an update firmware) The installation is simple, you have to press the start button when you connect the device to the computer, a window will appear and you will have to put the uf2 file, once the file has been placed, the window closes completely. alone and disconnects from the computer. (But look carefully at the manual where you should plug in the plug, you should not plug it in from the front, you must plug it in from the inside) The box works very well and I'm happy with it, good luck to you! Also don't forget to reprogram the eeprom > sudo -E rpi-eeprom-config --edit To add the order lines: PSU_MAX_CURRENT=5000 BOOT ORDER=0xf416 PCI_PROBE=1 press CTRL + O to save and CTRL X to close after saving In the terminal write the command > sudo reboot now < to restart the device so that it is remembered. Once you have saved, access from the MicroSD card and navigate to the config.txt file to add the lines [ARGON] usb_max_current_enable=1 dtparam=nvme dtparam=pciex1_1=gen3
