We ordered a gray market Tesla model y performance in Thailand just before Tesla bought a business license at twice the price as we felt, it was worth it. We were lucky we got our money back from that when we saw the business license in the press as we canceled it got our money back and on the first day we ordered a model Y performance. We never been able to test drive a model wide performance in Thailand, so it was quite a surprise that first day when we drove home. 22,000 km later the car has been flawless. Now I don’t get very long range with it or anywhere near as advertised but my wife does when I’m away on business. We were looking at other cars when we happened by a gray market dealer that was selling Teslas, as well as other cars, not commonly imported to Thailand as soon as we test drove the Tesla all other considerations for other cars were gone. We ordered on the first day available here on December 7, 2022 and received our model I performance on May 10, 2023. We had no complaints during delivery. One complaint that came up later was the sound of rain makes when it lands on the rear hatch and the rear quarter panels, exposing the fact that there are very low noise deadening material placed on the body panels exterior. So I fixed that with some dynamite.

Couple of questions. 1) What happens to the headlight and windows if you accidently get some of the clear coat on them? should you cover those areas? 2) After you apply the clear coat, can you still apply wax later or does the clear coat take the place of the wax?

Looking to buy the Tesla 3 Highland with perforated seats. I see many videos on how easy it is to clean the white non perforated seats but very little on these new seats. Please let me know if anyone has any experience with this. Both in general, how well do they hold up? And better to go with black or white when it comes to these perforated seats. Thanks

At least on the 2024 models, the performance is only 0.6 inches lower, so about half an inch. Not much at all

Ordered my blue Model Y with white interior today, 2 days after the 4th. I say all those pics and videos of abandoned mall parking lots full of Tesla vehicles is BS. My estimated delivery is July-August which I’m told, realistically 4-6 weeks.

Protecting a cheesy paint job is not an "optional" expense. Tesla paint is notoriously bad. Adding the cost of PPF is mandatory. I can think of 54 billion reasons Tesla cheaps out on the paint quality.

PPF should already be on the vehicle when it leaves the factory since the quality of Tesla paint is so poor. Teslas are stripped, not equipped.

I don't understand why you would not mention that you can get a substantial credit back for the tread wear warranty when buying new tires. For me this amounts to hundreds of dollars per set of tires replaced (typically $300 - $500 off the price). My local Costco does not honor this warranty but America's Tire / Discount Tires does. If you don't ask for it, they'll often "forget" to give it to you, so maybe you just didn't know about this...

Have you noticed that the AWD long range Model Y 2024 is a halirious 308 miles only. That should not be called long range. And since Tesla recommend charging up to only 80% (for battery longevity reasons) and do not use the last 5% (to avoid battery drainage), so there is only 75% usable range on a daily basis. So 75% of the stated 308 miles means only 231 miles usable range if we want to keep the battery life long. And the range will only get worst as the vehicle and battery age.

Can we take electricity from Tesla vehicles and actually realize V2L, will everyone order it?

It is true that prices have gone both up and down on the Tesla models, but the overall trend is significantly down with only smaller, temporary price increases. I see no reason why that trend will not continue the next 3-5 years until EVs are down to same production prices as comparable ICE cars. Incentives are temporary, so EVs will have to compete on 1:1 terms in the near future. In theory EVs should be cheaper than ICE cars due to the lower complexity. The battery price is a high share of the total cost and battery prices are reducing quickly.

None of these were a secret except for the 5th icon feature.
