Exactly and something I forgot to cover which is more prevalent in traditional news is the need to be first. It creates a situation where it gets reported wrong and they have to go back and revise it but no one reads the revision. Hasn’t happened too many times in gaming but there’s always the risk of dishonesty due to the pressure of clickbaiting or being first. But yeah I overall think they’re out of touch from the average gamer.

12:27 If THIS is 'motion sickness' then what is the opening scene to Saving Private Ryan or a similar movie to people hahaha, those scenes are absolutely crazy with how jerky they feel, but that gives it the realistic intensity that it desires, and that's one of the reasons why that movie and these games are so incredibly immersive. 15:06 Warhorse definitely isn't into being 'safe' about game development. You can actually off a number of your close friends and semi-main characters in KCD 1, which often will cause your quest to be effected or ended. Hope you play the first game man!!! It may be 6 years old, but it's only gotten better with age! Trust me that it's worth checking out. The people who get through the first 3 or 4 hours of the game quickly find themselves turning into diehard fans for a reason.

Hey, comment mostly for the algo, but i will say that tech tends to be exponetial at first and then plateu. Also, with large conglomerates controlling most industries, they tend to stiffle competition and innovation. Who knows, maybe someone will come along with a better idea for consoles. I think Starfield is going to need a lot of updates over the course of the next 5-6 years before it can be considered good. This is due to the issues not all technical and it needing a lot of narrative work as well. Because of this, even if Starfield was on something like the Unreal engine with all the asset streaming, lack of glitches, good performance, and graphical goodness it would still be a bad game. To make the game good they will need to overhaul entire system (like the perks), and make a great deal of hand crafted narrative content to flush the game out more. Starfield's problem is it is a game developed on an ethos from 25 years ago and the game market has moved on. This is stemming from something I have been seeing with Bethesda with their last few game releases. One of Bethesda's biggest strengths is its ability to make handmade, tight, compelling stories in a dynamic open world. Bethesda's problem is they have been moving away from these handmade stories and moving more to dynamically generated content. They feel they can create this massive unrefined boring sandbox and the modders will fix it and the players will find things to do. Now to be clear dynamically generated content is not bad per say, it is just when the dynamically generated content takes precedents over the hand made stuff that I find issue.

On different note, from the video showing that they are working on vehicles, I think the companion is on the back of the vehicle? One of the weird things for me was that whilst you could increase your running speed or jetpack distance your companion was left comically trying to catch up! I wonder if including vehicles is not only addressing the map traversal time issue but also the fact you keep leaving your companion behind?

I agree, its the gameplay settings that have made the biggest difference. I'm on xbox series X, the framerate increase (especially since I have a VRR TV) are very nice, but as I'm on Xbox I could not mod the game. Extreme enemy and easy player damage, combined with combat afflictions, slow healing, improve only affliction treatment, advanced prognosis, limited sleep healing and sustenance make big differences to combat. In previous playthroughs any aid other than medpacks I hardly used, food seemed to have a neglible effect on the game and to be honest, I didn't even know there were doctors as I never needed one. Now, my first major firefight and I wish I'd brought more bandages and then I have to limp back to New Atlantis to find a doctor as I can't run without making the puncture wounds worse and I'm slowing bleeding out - great stuff 😊

That’s completely fair and all criticisms I have for the game as well. It was a massive disappointment due to the hype. @@spicy.tuna_Even if Bethesda releases the dlcs, the game is still very lackluster with constant load screens and. a bad procedurial generation. They have a low amount of Points of Interest, meaning you'll get the same exact generated "random" event in the same playthrough. Modders generally have left for this game (I know there's still modders, but that scene is drying up here) and mods have kept a lot of newer Bethesda games alive. Bethesda is somewhat trying, but their attempts have been implementing a lot of features that were already present in former games.
@spicy.tuna_

@@lawofanubis2996 I agree for sure. The game will never get even close to being their next fallout or elder scrolls. A lot of those issues can likely never be fixed, and you’re correct I unfortunately don’t foresee any kind of mods that will “fill” the planets like many hoped. But I hope it at least becomes respectable because there are some features in the game that are close to being really good if they were only fleshed out. But after a couple dlcs I hope they essentially abandon the game and move on to their strong IPs and learn some key lessons from this
@lawofanubis2996
@lawofanubis2996 Ай бұрын
@@spicy.tuna_ Unfortunately I don't think that Bethesda will learn. When you look back to Oblivion, Bethesda was trying to move to monetizing things ingame, and the game itself was a downgrade from the game before it. Fallout 3, even for its time, was years behind other games in terms of mechanics and gameplay compared to others releasing that same year. Look at Skyrim today. It's so extremely monetized it's not even funny. It's been re-released on purchasable 11 times. It was really just a beta test game for the new Creation engine. I don't have faith in Bethesda making a quality game in either ES6 or FO4. Fallout 4 had the "Next-Gen" update which was a catastrophe. Even Fallout 4, for its fun shooting mechanics, was a very flawed game and is both years behind the other games in the market for the time, but also lackluster in a bit of content from other Fallout games. Mechanics like having a viewable weapon were gone, weapon durability, et cetera. That being said, I don't hate or dislike the Fallout series. They're among my favourite regardless of their flaws. But Bethesda isn't a powerhouse studio that people think it is. They employee modders into their teams or rely on modders outside of the core aspect of the game. It's disappointing because the best game released in one of their main IPs was Fallout: New Vegas and that was a time crunch game with numerous flaws due to crunch and the engine and not having a fully experienced team. That being said, don't take any of my criticism as being a hateful message, nor that I'm trying to say that you shouldn't be excited for the next game, but just be wary of expectations.

Personally I more take issue with the amount of value you are actually getting in some of the ultimate packs for the amount you are paying. Playing devil's advocate though, some games in the past have such as Rainbow Six Siege have had the "full price" version and then a lower discount priced version where you get access to less content at the start. Now that isn't an exact 1:1 scenario with this, but I feel its close enough to justify the point. You wouldn't say that is a bad thing or that they are selling you an incomplete game. They are selling ultimate editions as extras right now. But they could easily market it as the full game, and then make the standard edition the new discounted version. Now if actual gameplay elements that effect balance are locked behind the paywall. That is of course an issue, but if it's just cosmetics or a temporary headstart advantage, that is generally not that big of a deal in my eyes.

I agree with you. What I worry is because companies are always trying to push the needle, always trying to find news ways to give you less and ask for more and they will keep pushing until they can do game play systems. In my video I used the example of the new yakuza game, new game plus was behind one of the ultimate editions and it was argued that NG+ isn’t a core mechanic etc but this is how it starts they keep pushing things and people rationalize and defend it and they keep going. I don’t think it’ll ever go back but like the OG horse armor I’m scared of where it could lead.

Look at what they're doing in other industries; buying up AI companies and shoehorning it into Windows, putting ads in the start menu of the operating system you already paid for, etc. They're chasing short term dollars to keep investors happy without solid long term plans on how this is going to affect public sentiment and loyalty towards their company.

3:12 I think the reason people are upset is that Microsoft has spent years going out of their way to buy up all these studios so the competition couldn't have them, then turned around and closed them down, a couple of which have released very well received games. If they were going to turn around and shut down studios, maybe they shouldn't have bought them in the first place because now they've dispersed that talent so that those teams may not ever get back together again in the same way that they were before, which means that everybody loses.

I think microsoft is leaning into cloud, they can get alot of subscribers in developing countries, where a $500 box is out of reach. I expect youll see an announcement of a series S price drop at the june show. Also if you look at Sonys earning, you see that vast majority of there software revenue came from "3rd party Addons", microtransactions, and not from exclusive single players story driven games. A huge part of the player base are totally locked into the big live service games, and are spending their money in them. As a result you see exclusive games, such as rise of ronin, FF7 etc, flopping. I think microsoft will capitalize on sonys slow development of Gaas games, and launch any title they have with live service elements on PS5. The new war isnt about selling consoles, its about getting players to spend money in your games.

@@Oneil1570 You can disagree all you like based on personal opinion but I am not using personal opinion. I am using hardware specs. The PS3 was a superior system to the 360... the PS3 CPU had 7 CORES to the 360s 3 cores. These two are not even comparable and the CPU was an embarrassment for Microsoft. The PS3s GPU had DEDICATED memory. The 360s had SHARED system memory. While the eDram did give the 360 a bandwidth advantage, it lacked the clear general performance of the PS3 that comes with dedicated memory. The above shows Microsofts lack of understanding of how consoles work...shit, it does not even make sense on a PC. Now the ram...the PS3 had XDR ram that was far faster and efficient while the 360 was using already outdated DDR3...that was SHARED. Hell even the flipping storage was far superior in the PS3 with its 2.5 SATA that was faster AND had more storage PLUS was 100% UPGRADABLE while Microsoft tried to lock theirs down to FUCK OVER their customers by trying to make them have to buy an entire new system with more storage capability... Well wait, how about the disc driver, surely Microsoft can get the win here right? Not even close. The PS3 had a Blu-ray drive and the 360 had an HDD. HDDs spun single layers much faster but had 1/4th the storage space and a dual layer disc had no advantage so the 360 could not even have the largest games the PS3 could on a single disc and the 360 had no ability to also be the movie player everyone wanted. Lastly. The 360 had mostly games in 720p while the PS3 was 1080 all the way...Microsoft could not even get that right even though 1080p had been THE standard for years before its release... Microsoft could not even match them on the audio front either. PS3 had 7.1 surround while the 360 was sporting a decade old Pro-logic II. So long. PS3 wins on all fronts.
