Good stuff, but you forgot the beer scene. ;-) I grew up in Yakima and lived most of my life in the "Greater Seattle" region. Regarding the weather, be warned, there's a condition called the "Seasonal Affective Disorder" that can be difficult to deal with during the long duration of overcast days, but I suggest, even during the briefest of nice days, go outside, walk, bike, drive (preferably in a convertible, with the roof down), have something special to eat... whatever brightens your mood. ;-D

Great report, and well presented. I can tell that you are fairly new to here by pronunciation of: Pike Place, Gonzaga, Alder trees and a couple of other words. One of the driest towns is actually in western Washington, Sequim. I think your report will help those thinking of coming here. Many arrive unprepared financially. They think a $500,000 home will be easy to find, and will be upscale. It will be a tiny starter house.

You left out how relatively "bugless" we are in western WA. Termites??? Never seen one here, and I am I life-long native. Hordes of mosquitos? Not where I live. Lots of BIG bugs - especially cockroaches? Nope. Lots of snakes/lizards/other creepy crawlers? Well I've seen them in the reptile house at the zoo, but not even much at all when out camping. I love how free we are of these things, compared to other parts of the country. For example, I do NOT know how people in FL live with all of their huge population of bugs, snakes, and the like. Otherwise, this was a great overview - for the Western side of that state. You might have also mentioned our beach and water culture here as well - it's pretty big. And that you can drive for 1-2 hours east or west of Seattle and be skiing in the mountains or walking on an ocean beach. Lots of rivers, lots of lakes. Also - the crime and homelessness should be mentioned - cuz we do have them.

Seriously don’t move here - the governor has ruined the state, crackheads are taking over all bigger cities and are expanding, criminal are not being held accountable for crimes and are let loose. Until this state has a major reform- we are doomed

Something everyone should look at is the rent and real estate here. Rent and Real estate is very pricy. Most jobs here do not pay well enough to make it possible to afford rental prices. If you are not a professional beware.
