Awesome build!! Ive been slowly gathering parts to do the same swap. I have the 4bt ,nv4500 trans with 4x4. And i recently just bought the jk chassis. Unfortunately i dont know where to get info to complete tbe swap. I still have to remove the 3.8l engine out to start. My mai. Question is what do you need to do to use the stock fuel tank. Also im not too sure about the wiring. How did you get it to run on stock gauges? Any info helps. Again amazing build!

If that's a true to size 6 cylinder, this thing should have way more grunt than all 4 banger engines out there, never seen such a big engine in such a small machine until today. Very very rare combination.

I would check the alternator, I think Bus Grease Monkey did one and the coolant goes through the alternator and can cause weird problems. I’m not certain about this, it has been a while since I watched that episode, but check it out and hopefully it will help. Have a blessed day.
@1982MCI8 ай бұрын
No, coolant does not go through these. They are liquid cooled but it runs off the same oil supply as the engine, not coolant
@daveharper56558 ай бұрын
@@1982MCI I wasn’t sure, now that you mention it I recall that it was oil and not coolant. Thanks for the info.

Well arent you just a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day :)
@icenijohn23 ай бұрын
@@josephalberta1145 He's just being realistic and sensible. If you own a bus like this, you'd better have enough readily-available funds to pay for the worst-case scenario of rebuilding the engine or transmission. I had to do exactly that last year, but from day one of owning my bus I had been putting money into my bus slush fund for emergencies like that. If you don't like spending big chunks of money, old buses are not for you! They're heavy-duty commercial vehicles, not cheap little RVs, so they will cost a lot to fix properly and safely.
@josephalberta11453 ай бұрын
I have found parts for my expedition can cost more than my Prevost. if you are handy then its do-able. I guess no RV is a good investment. We could put more into mutual funds but where is the fun in that. Cant take the money with you when you die. I do see your point. @@icenijohn2
