Can i study aerospace engineering at university without having done a level maths or physics? I’m in year 13 right now so I can’t really change anything.

Hi , What I intend to do is space research or building machines , rockets , mechanical systems used by the space industry like satellites, rovers etc. It's also my dream to join companies like JPL , Lockheed Martin etc. So does aerospace completely focus on aircrafts or is that something else called "aeronautical engineering " ? What should I pursue in engineering if I want a job in the space industry ?

I say this not to be rude but to hopefully share some insight, you will encounter this issue at every company. A lot of companies take the "cookie cutter" approach to develop a solution whether it be software related or hardware related, solely based on what has worked in the past. There are very few companies that want to develop applications in house from scratch. I've been a QA tester for about 7 years working for 3 different companies, in 3 distinct industries (Airline, Finance, and Medical). All of the companies I have worked for want the fast and easy solution. They look at whatever product it is that is currently being used and they try to develop a strategy to apply band-aids so to speak to whatever the problem is. Thats not to say working on a brand new, and innovative software is dismissed wholesale, but most companies are looking for ways to cut budgets and just enhance what already exists. I can relate to the boredom piece, I just hope that a few years down the line you don't think back and say you made a mistake.

Everything 100% for me, ever since I was a kid, finishing my mech. engineering bachelor soon, trying to decide on a master subject, I do however might have a problem with working on military applications, being why Im hesitant.

What did you select in your maths category,that mean like Statistics 1,Pure mathematics 1 etc….. in that

Basically study mechanical engineering and get a degree on fluid mechanics ( it'll help to have a wider job market) my recommendation, make what best fits to you.

You need to cut your costs on yout food shop and eating out. In regards to luch bring you own lunch every day with the produce you get from the food shopping. Cut off hello fresh, takeways etc. Cooking youf osn food with pasta, rice, flour, vegetables, fruit. For drinks you can do filtered water, lemon water, lemon and ginger, coffeee, tea, and smoothies from the fruit you got from the food shop. Get reduced to clear items when you can and if you are near a tesco get a clubcard. Doing this you would save significantly.

A honest observation is that you will hardly have things to build from scratch in 90% company, and the reason is that they have their applications built and they don't want it broken. You may have new features to implement from scratch but most of the time you just come as a support.

Im studying mechatronics engineering at university right now and I can honestly say that from my personal experiences I had more connections in college with employers than with my university. I’m literally at uni just so I can get a paper to prove to my employer I can show up consistently they don’t care and definitely look for people with experience. Like I can get a job without this paper right now in engineering but the main problem is becoming a manager as employers want people with degrees or HNDs.

First I even heard we had an aerospace market was when they decided to send a rocket to the Moon. I assumed the idea of aerospace outside of America died with the Moon landing. Clearly the thing we need to be wasting money on during a national recession, crippled NHS and immigration crisis.

Hey I know this is a bit unrelated but I began a Physics Bachelor and I had to drop out... even though i've always been good at Math and Physics I did not understand a single bit of the theory in "Mathematical Analysis" and "Linear Algebra" can someone give me some advice or help? My main issue is that the first month we're thrown into the deep abyss of definitions and axioms and I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THAT... which points I should learn/keep and which points I can ignore....
