KZfaq continuously plays this video but I have misophonia so the saliva/dry-mouth crackly triggers the release of adrenaline which is detrimental to my adrenal system. Perhaps a producer could help prevent this. I hear a sliced of green apple can reduce that particular mouth sound. It's too bad because many people have misophonia and some of us love interior design.

Bunny Williams has also a yellow living room (it’s a lighter but very elegant nuance), I watched her house tour some months ago and fell in love ❤ I painted my bedroom ochre and it took quite some attempts to get the color right, now I’m happy with a soft muted caramelly ochre. Also read a lot about which direction our room faces and how the daylight changes color, very interesting.

So fun - it plays really well off the inspiration while being a distinct thing of its own. Theatrical and gorgeous - you know no one else will have the same room! These vibrant dramatic rooms are always going to be polarising, but I'd prefer that interesting risk in a design space to safe/boring/catalogue!

We had a yellow living room for a couple of years, but we unfortunately chose a color ever so slightly wrong (Dulux 'Bajan Sands'), it always looked great in swatches, and the mornings in the room were fabulous. But, after a while, we got so utterly sick of it because every time at night when you put the tv on or a lamp on, it felt so sickly. We realised that all of our furniture that we love didn't really match the walls either, and in the end our furniture won out and we swapped out the yellow. It's a wonderful colour to fill a room with, but maybe in the future if we have a house with a separate room we can turn into a sitting room we can make it yellow again

Hi Nina, would you be willing to share what a typical modern French or Parisian style bedroom (or any room) looks like? I’m in the USA and all my searches come back with “French Cottage” looks, which I am guessing is the American perspective of what the French or Parisian style really is. Great video, I had not heard of these channels before and am thankful to now know of Rajiv’s !

Hello! Yes I do observe that this question comes up a lot, I think "french" is often associated with Louis XIV style furniture (which people still incorporate in their homes) but doesn't reflect the different styles that define french interior designers. Will probably talk about this soon!

You could find an upcycled white TV media unit / console table and switch out the hardware. Your dining chairs don't need to match your dining table. I think the examples you showed at the beginning are eclectic. Anytime you add orange, pink, gold, red, blue and green together it looks eclectic. I don't think there is anything wrong with eclectic style, my home is, but maybe you think poorly with the word?

Eclectic comes from the Greek word 'eklektikos', which means, to take the best of. My home has colour and l describe it as eclectic. I mix wood tones and metals, furniture pieces that are Scandi, MCM, contemporary and vintage together. It works because my walls are a warm white, flooring is a mid brown and rug is light beige. My 2 and 3 seater leather sofas are a muted blue, armchair is suede charcoal, accent chair has a black frame with a botanical pattern in range of blues. My coffee table is light oak, side tables in mid brown mango wood and my TV unit is upcycled painted in black with antique brass knobs. My wall art has blue and green. I switch out my sofa throw blankets, cushions and lampshade seasonally. In summer its blue and white, autumn is burnt orange, reds, caramel. Winter is brown and navy blue. Spring is cream and greens. My home is not quiet luxury or sophisticated in the classical sense. It is inviting, comfortable and personalised. For me it is cosmopolitan.
