For some context, people had been trying to assassinate Dr King as early as 1955. He had come to accept the possibility of his life and work being cut short, and never feared death as a result. King knew that even if he died young, the battle for racial justice would continue without him, and as long as he could inspire people to carry on the torch after he was gone, he had no reason to fear an early death. This is why Dr King will always have my respect. Because even though he's long deceased, he still inspires people to stand up for justice, just as he did when he was alive 💯

We must teach our children our History, giving God the glory for bringing our ancestors from slavery. Not allowed to read , write or learn for 200+ years. Not having any opportunities of the rest of the free world. They must know how God has brought us out and will continue to bring us out in His time. Give God the glory, Amen.

We need to regroup and seriously consider reparations for repatriation. I realize everyone doesn't want to leave Amerikkka but the other races won't vote for reparations based on racism and Jim Crow because they also suffered. We leave that language out and, we should seek reparations for the communities destroyed and the millions of acres of farmland that were stolen in part by the government with a $300 tax letter they mailed out during the 1930s Great Depression no one could read. They couldn't read it because there had been an ordinance against them learning how to read and write. We couldn't vote and were taxed without representation. Those of us who want to repatriate can build a city/state and create a new reality from the ground up. That would serve as a blueprint for the future. Otherwise were fighting a losing battle. The Jewish politicians our supposed allies are against reparations despite the fact that their people received reparations. When I heard Bernie Sanders arrogantly denounce reparations during his presidential run I used the video to destroy the momentum he had. Moving forward I created the mantra No Reparations No Vote in 2015 after five years of trying to get the topic out of its dormant state. The Chinese took my Facebook page before I could share the repatriation component of my reparations game plan. That being said I'm happy to finally see us talking about it while I'm still alive. I won't be here to witness what happens but I know that the ancestors appreciate my efforts. I feel like I can check out knowing I made a meaningful contribution to our people. Those who don't qualify don't hate celebrate. If you don't need or want it don't complain accept it and donate.

It looks like 99% of you are missing the point. It’s easy to say he knew he would die. You may say that for anyone who speaks that way and then dies shortly after. The point is, the Rev. Dr. MLK is telling us here that God has shown himself to him because he climbed to the top of the mountain. (Mt. Sinai) God has allowed him to see the PromisedLand, from up there. He also told him the PromisedLand is promised to your descendants but you will not live to see it. (He is saying he may not get there at the same time as they do, but does not know the future.) He says it at the beginning, “I don’t know what’s going to happen now.” When God shows himself to whichever people he chooses…read the story of Moses. THIS IS WHY MLK WAS SPECIAL. He was directly chosen by God for a specific purpose, and he was telling us that here and most should comprehend those words.

silly townhall Demanding reparations for long past damages to ancestors (slavery) is stupid and unwise. The statute of limitations has been long expired; slaves and slave owners are long, long dead. A stupid commentator wrote: "There is no statute of limitations to indemnify damage to one's person or property in the insurance world." Incorrect. ALL insurance contracts have many clauses, limits, constraints, restraints, and limitations. No insurance company exposes itself to infinite risk. No insurance company exposes itself to finite risk to infinite time. Bonds. Confederate bonds. Some descendant of slaves gets hold of, say, $10 million in Confederate bonds. Can said descendant of slaves get $10M cash? Nope. The Confederate bonds can only be used as wallpaper or birdcage liner. There was a limited time after the Civil War to demand legitimately for reparations for freed slaves from slave owners. OK, expropriate the wealth of the former slave owners and transfer said wealth to the freed slaves. History is tragic. The Civil War wiped out utterly the wealth of 99% of the former slave owners and many former slave owners were not land owners. Post-Civil War there was little to distribute to former slaves because nearly all southerners (Black, White) became destitute from the war. Who benefitted (financially, property-wise, wealth-wise) from the Civil War? Answer: the Northerners and they were not slave owners. But, but, but the evil Southern slave owners traded with the Northerners!!! The Northerners need to pay reparations!!! Nope. Said evil Southern slave owners traded also with people of Europe, Asia, South and Central America, even Africa. Should one demand reparations from Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, Africa, Australia? The source of slaves in the Americas was the African Continent. Africans selling off their ethnic siblings to slavery to the Western market (the Americas) and Eastern market (Muslim world) benefitted monetarily from the trade. Go demand reparations from the various African Nations. All African Nations will laugh at such demands for reparations. Go demand reparations from the various Muslim Nations. All Muslim Nations will laugh at such demands for reparations. Booker T. Washington (former slave) wrote about former slaves helping out their former owners who fell on hard times. Should said former slaves DEMAND reparations instead of helping the former owners? The slave revenge movies are popular today (2024 AD). A village has been totally destroyed by a tornado. God is guilty of this EVIL!!! Demand reparations from God!!! Such thoughts are idiotic. Someone damaged either your person or your property. You have full rights to demand reparations from the guilty. However, tragically, the guilty is often destitute so what reparations can you get? Are you going to mourn your loss forever and never do anything? A village has been totally destroyed by a tornado. What to do? Wait until God provides reparations? Or would you get up and rebuild the village? A drug-addicted, homeless, penniless, deranged arsonist burned down your house. What to do? Do nothing, do not rebuild the house until the arsonist made FULL Reparations? Question: Should you suffer for the sins of your dead parents? Should you pay off the debts of your dead parents? Generational servitude is sustained by having children obligated for the debts of their parents: this is the history of poverty in 3rd world countries, aka s**th**e countries. There is an asymmetry. I am sure you are very eager to collect what is owed to your dead parents. Even if the debt is owed only to your dead great-great-great-grand parents. Underlying this eagerness is greed. This asymmetry makes one blind to the other party. You are not the sole party in society. Others (the other party) are also part of society. Question rephrased: Should the other party suffer for the sins of their dead parents? Should the other party pay off the debts of their dead parents? Some reparations seekers may quote the Bible. Proverbs 3:27 = Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. The problem is that nothing is owed to the reparation seekers who are just grifters looking for something for nothing. If someone was owed, it is the long-dead great-great-great-grand parents, NOT you. Justice. The issue of reparation is often linked to that of justice. When you go to court, you do not determine what Justice is. The Judge, the Court, the Jury decide what is Justice for you. You may not be satisfied with the Justice but if you want to stay a citizen in good standing with society, you have to ACCEPT the Judgement. What you are seeking is not so much Justice but Satisfaction. Satisfaction has more in common with Retribution than with Justice. Yes, you can appeal again and again and again and again. You just become a vexatious litigant and your standing in society diminishes. You become a liability, not an asset to society. Think of the Bible as a collection of writings by the Ancients Sages, not so much the Word of God. Deuteronomy 15 : 1 = At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. Comment: The above verse refers to you who want reparations. If reparations is debt, cancel the debt. What is your valuation of the concept of "statute of limitations"? Deuteronomy 15 : 3 = You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your brother owes you. Comment: Who is supposed to pay this "reparation"? Which entity is supposed to pay this "reparation"? Do you consider this entity to be a foreigner or a sibling? Deuteronomy 15 :11 = There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land. Comment: The above verse refers to you who want reparations. Instead of demanding "reparations", try to become an asset, not a liability, to your society. The mob's motto: No Justice, no Peace! Much of the violence, turmoil, dystopia in this World is caused by people pursuing JUSTICE!!!, pursuing COSMIC JUSTICE!!! Question: what do you value more: Justice? Peace?

In regards to your question, Justice. Regarding reparations, in recognition of the opposition to slavery, I wanted to use things that occurred after slavery. I'm the person who created No Reparations No Vote in 2015 which reignited the call for reparations on Facebook. I had been trying since the beginning of Facebook after discovering during a family tree project with distant cousins that the farm my great-grandfather owned that my mom talked about visiting when she was a child. She told us that the farm was taken because of a $300 tax letter that they couldn't read. I forgot about it until decades later when I got a copy of his obituary. I became mystified after reading that the farm was 40 acres. During my research, I was reminded about the reconstruction period. After emancipation, the former slave masters needed help with their farms and had to negotiate sharecropping deals. Many of the freedmen probably because they were the farm managers obtained large tracts of land. During the 1930s Great Recession, the government created a tax program to generate some income. So, they mailed out the $300 tax letter that the freedmen couldn't read. They couldn't read it because there had been ordinances against them learning how to read and write. After 50 years of ownership, our ancestor's generational wealth was stolen with the loss of millions of acres of farmland. Additional research revealed that the farmlands were also stolen by murder, trickery, and theft. My 99-year-old neighbor (Rip) often talked about how everyone used to live on farms. I discovered during this research that most people don't know about the $300 tax letter because their ancestors were too embarrassed to talk about it. My great-grandfather’s obituary states that many white people throughout Missouri attended his funeral. Missouri was home to the 3/5ths of human law. The attendance of the whites paying their respects at the funeral indicates to me that my ancestor had one of the best, if not the best farm in Missouri. The American Revolution was about taxation and representation. Our ancestors got a tax letter they couldn't read, couldn't vote, and had no representation. These revelations got me so upset that I initially wanted to advocate a more physical response but that would cause a lot of death so I began advocating reparations. For years I heard many negative comments from people like you. In 2015 when Memes began trending about the importance of showing up to vote I recognized an opportunity. I began commenting that I understood that people died for my right to vote, but that I was tired of voting for the same thing over and over. I want to vote for something I want, No Reparations, No Vote. That resonated on Facebook and it went viral. Having thought about in great deal, when the memes began trending about reparations, I stated we shouldn't argue for racism and Jim Crow because the other races suffered as well. To limit as many as possible I argued that only those whose lineage was tied to the people whose ancestors began building the US on July 4, 1775, as slave labor could apply. I knew that the diaspora would get upset and spent a lot of time educating them that they were here voluntarily and should seek reparations from England. Not long after the Chinese took over my page and I couldn't finish what I started. My lineage arguments inspired ADOS who unfortunately helped to foment discord between us and the diaspora. I never got to argue that reparations should be used for repatriation, something the other races would logically support. They would love to see us leave, and not have to compete with us. I tried sharing that option with the California Task Force but was told no one wanted to repatriate. The Europeans got free farmland. We sharecropped (slavery 2.0) to get our farmland and it was stolen. We built successful communities and they were destroyed. As far as I am concerned a debt is owed and we need to get justice by any means necessary. Those who don't qualify don't hate celebrate. If you don't want or need it support and donate.

@@REALMVPS As you stated, other races have suffered. But then your view is egocentric (me! me! me! reparations for me!). With a foreigner, require the completion of the transaction and/or contract and then you and the foreigner part ways FOREVER. War between you and the foreigner may ensue. After hostilities, no more contact, no more contract with the foreigner. Case settled. With a sibling, you will continue living with the sibling FOREVER. Forcing complete debt payment from a sibling will raise Anger in said Sibling. You may have gotten Justice (in name only and only for yourself) and there is no Peace in the House (the Sibling will see to that there is No Peace). What do you value more: Justice? Peace? Do you consider the USA (i.e. the US citizenry) to be a foreigner or sibling?
