How much do you charge to restore a bike? I’m interested in restoring an xs-2. I owned one for years. I’ve owned several since then, but that old xs650 was my favorite.

Thanks for the sound memories, I miss my 350. I had lots of fun on it. They were great street or trail. If we could just go back in time again. I took the baffle out of mine too,it sounded so much better.

I had this same bike in 1973 when I was 15 years old. Had a blast with it learning to ride dirt bikes. First gear in low range was really really low.

just traded a 1978 MIGA-SPOT welder for this exact same bike. guy said it had 60psi compression but when i got there he asked if i wanted to ride it. i was a bit puzzled how i could even start it with compression that low, but kept my mouth shut. sure enough, it ran. took it home and tested compression at 110psi. bike is super complete and just needs a tuneup and turn signals. even the original paint is in decent shape.

In the 70s, an enterprising California racer took the 500 Kawasaki triple out of his road racer and installed a 350 bighorn single with a factory hop up kit. This was to take advantage of a rule change that put 350 singles and 250 twins in the same racing class. This combination won some races.

I purchased a 1977 Kawasaki ke250 last month for $600 running in great condition. The tank has a ding and someone repainted the tank with a rattle can very poorly. The title is the original title bought from the original owner. Everything's on it, blinkers, tail light, mirror, all in excellent condition except for a crack in the tail light lens. I ordered an original off ebay and vintage reproduction tank decals. Putting new brakes and tires on tomorrow. I had the ke175 years ago and loved it. I found this and felt like a teenager again when I started it up and took off. Ill be dismantling it soon to paint.

I just bought one that isn't running and is making low compression, I'm struggling to figure out some of the inner workings. Reply to this if you would be willing to talk about some of this as I'm pretty new to bikes. Thank you!

@@elanderis Low compression could be 1 of 3 things or a combination of all. Your rings can be worn, you could have leaky valves or your cylinder walls could be worn. Either way you will have to tear into the engine to see whats going on. Good luck
