Jim Reeves is a LEGEND. INCREDIBLE VOICE. My dad loved the songs. 😊😢❤❤❤❤

This has got to be the most 80s country thing I've ever seen! Can't help but love the huge hair and the two legends singing duets off of one another with effortless skill. You can't watch something like that and still be in a bad mood at the end =)

I used to hear this song (Stand By Your Man) sometimes when I was a kid. It gave me a warmer, more romantic view of what the world was going to be like, than what it actually turned out to be.

Skeeter Davis was one of the greatest country female vocalists ever and this stunningly moving and beautiful live performance should shut up that handful that say she needed "double tracking" to sounded great. Almost every female vocalist in that era recorded at least some of their songs double-tracked because it sounds so good and Skeeter sounded the best of anybody in this style. I own this on the Time-Life Opry dvds and have played this segment far more than any other song on all the dvds. As Marty Stuart says in the beginning intro to that dvd, "country singing doesn't get any better, sweeter, or more poignant" than Skeeter's magnificent performance here. The fact that this video here has almost 200 rave reviews written here and almost 3,000 likes is extraordinary proof how wonderful she was.

I requested this song for this man that had already requested a song for his wife, (different song) The guy was all trashing his wife live on radio. I got mad and called the radio station to dedicate this song for the man who was abusing his wife.

I am glad you've finally called me on the phone I've been waiting here tonight but not alone You broke the date that we had made just yesterday Now there's someone else who's here, he'll have to stay I have found another love I know is true And he holds me much more tenderly than you Loving you is not worth the price I have to pay Someone else is in your place, he'll have to stay Once I loved you with all my heart But now I must say no You broke my heart too many times So now you'll have to go I can hear the jukebox playing soft and low And you're out again with someone else, I know My love was blind, I'm not your kind that's all I'll say So you can hang up, I'm in his arms, he'll have to stay

".....her nickname “Skeeter” (short for mosquito) came from her grandfather. He thought she had a lot of extra energy, hence the name Skeeter. ..." She was born Mary Frances Penick, which is a pretty name in its own right.

Oh wow. That was so beautiful. You play so sensitively and I love what you did with the left hand accompaniment, truly inspired. What I really admired is that you spoke to someone and carried on playing. That’s real talent. - Dawn 🌅🧡🧡🧡🧡
