I give a pass to the end of Season 5 because the Crew prioritized the Garnet Wedding to give us proper gay rep, and that killed the show. You can look at "Change Your Mind" as the beginning of a road to uprooting the evil system that was in place with re-education and diplomacy that we won't get to see, and that's fine. Rushed ending, moving at lightspeed for the sake of gay space rocks being properly portrayed as gay. But this movie is what kills it for me. It's the beginning of "We all hate Pink Diamond because she's the scapegoat". Pink has the least to apologize for of all of the diamonds. When she was confronted with the need to change, she DID. She fought for life on Earth and to free her fellow gems. She stopped throwing tantrums after she hurt Pink Pearl. But she never gets the chance to change now. She's eternally "A bad person" because she never got to face her mistakes and "Make a change". Meanwhile, the genocidal dictators get to be awkward aunts absolved of their atrocious and horrific crimes. None of them would have ever seen the value of life and stopped their colonization, in fact they reveled in life's destruction! But noooo, Pink Diamond is the worst of them. She's the true villain!! 🙄

I wanna see a dinosaur movie or documentary that's like a safari in the late cretaceous. i wanna see a safari jeep stop on the trail as a herd of hadrosaurs crosses up the road. i wanna see a therapod charge at a tour group only for the tour guide to call its bluff and shoo it away. just generally treat them like the animals they were, and not some weird alien monsters.

Bro, how are you able to reflect this much thought and message out of that episode? How can one attain this much skill? You just sound so smart and wise that I barely understood anything that you said.

45:50 it would also be cool to see when the creatures were dying/being stunned (by BMO’s song) they would rapidly contort into a bunch of random things, instead of just putting their hands were there ears would be (if they had any)

I think PB’s words meant: To grow anew is to destroy and start again from an entirely different perspective. At the seashell’s centre: A spiralling seashell looks like an infinite labyrinth with the path shrinking. The cornucopia’s smallest door: Cornucopias represent overflowing abundance and the smallest door is the humble entrance to the cornucopia (its shape is flared) This also matches with Finn’s journey. He goes through the trials and completely resets (shrinking shape of the shell) and finally finishes the hall of egress without knowing (seemingly infinite spiral of the shell) as well as growing and seeing the acid trip that is the final room. (shape of the cornucopia and also the symbolism of the cornucopia)

In regards to the lady bug that cheer's up jack at the end of the episode, we the audience only saw how significant it was to ashi. If we the viewer are shown Jack & ashis relationship in its entirety & we know as much as Jack then jack never saw or got told the connection ashi has to Lady bug's. Theres no connection for Jack to understand why ashi would like lady bugs so much. So i guess Jack just got cheered up by a lady bug because he just likes lady bug!?🤣

This episode was so good but a scene I really love, is when it pans to show a bunch of characters like flame princess and even Jake lying severely injured on the ground, despite how powerful they have proved to be by the rest of the series. It shows how powerful golb is and how real of a threat everyone takes him as. The scene where everyone is walking toward golb and singing is also great, because it perfectly incapsulates the severity of the situation and how everyone comes together. Everything about this episode is great, I think it’s a 10/10.

Third, wildly different theory: Most gum-beings are like Neddy. He and the tree exist in symbiosis: gum-beings are basically sentient plants once they find some kind of sustenance. PB, having humanlike intelligence, is the weird one.

You want to know something really dumb? I was an avid pirater of the show, often watching new episodes in 3 minute segments while they were fresh before those videos got inevitably taken down. Or I’d watch them through react channels mostly because I didn’t have a good finger on the pulse of when new episodes were gonna come out, despite being in the fanbase (I was also 16 or 17 so school got in the way). However, when I finished Can’t Go Back, I was so eager to get to the next episode that I didn’t realize I accidentally clicked on the preview for what would be “Now We’re Only Falling Apart.” And the very first thing that that preview shows is Amethyst freaking out and saying “Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond?!” To say I was upset at somehow spoiling myself was an understatement…I laughed because like most people, I didn’t take the Rose/Pink theory seriously. But I couldn’t enjoy the episode after that, and unfortunately to this day, I still have trouble liking the episode on a strictly personal level. It’s one of the best season 5 had to offer but I’ll never get that bitter taste out of my mouth since I ruined the experience for myself somehow

I liked to think that baby fin might grow up to either usurp the king with the guidance and peppermint tank, or scary thought of fin becomes the VKs next kidnapped child victim. Had it not just kinda been resolved, would’ve loved to see the story like continue in s2
