says a lot about Hendrix's modesty, and his lack of insecurity: he thought there wasn't anything wrong, to him it was like 'hey do you have a cigarette?'

One big ass lie. He can’t get Clapton to back him up. I knew Jimi back in the day and he could tune his guitar by ear. He also could do some alternate tunings by ear. You won’t see that today one way to find out is listen to the Dylan song like a Rolling Stone on the Live Monterey album and at the end he’s tuning his guitar and I believe it he might be even doing a alternate tuning by ear Paul McCartney with a prick

Sounds like a hater comment. It suprises me because McCartney is a genius in his own right...

I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I never understood why people thought Jimi Hendrix was such a great guitarist. There are so many great people out there. Hendrix himself told Dick Cavett there were a lot of people better than him, yet people still insist. I just don’t get it.

Sir Paul matey mate, you must have been drug addled before, during & after The Experience show ... Jimi never used a Bigsby trem ... however your old bud George "I quit the band" Harrison did... and your current slug buddy Johnny Depp has an assortment of the modified car hood ornaments / added dead weight guitar tremor. Plus the Eric tuning thing was a joke as this apparent clip is. Peace, love all we need a few more millions from touring, touring, touring. The long and wind... lied on... (oops) .... long and endless road ... as it goes on and on and on. ..

In fact Jimi's guitar was in no way wildly out of tune. Here's the actual performance. Maybe slightly out of tune but all his performances were. Same for Beatles back then in fact 😂 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qsCffNudt6mXYp8.html

Talking of J. Hendrix' guitar going out of tune, it is strange that the electric guitar industry didn't come up with locking tunners and whammy bars earlier than they did.
@zhiracs2 жыл бұрын
The technology probably wasn't there yet. Those sort of components need to be very carefully machined and tempered... in a way that only a CNC machine can really do. Plus I think Hendrix and maybe a few prog bands were the only ones who really dared to be that crazy with the whammy bars until the Floyd Rose system was invented.

i saw the band and guitar tchnician that worked with jimi hendrix in england and they played perfect his songs and guitar wise was the same sound , he was the guitar technician who made it sound like that ,one could close our eyes and feeling that jimi hendrix was on stage this a group of older man, a perfect summer night inside a castle near the beach and a huge moon by the side on top of the stage, great summer night, it happened i didn´t knew they were going to play, thats why it felt so perfect. The sound wasn´t close to it ,it was just like it , and i didn´t drink a drop of alcohol ,i wasnt drunk just plain(well a litle brazilian cocaine and some white widows to smoke, fresh water nothing more)perfect

It is blindingly obvious that Hendrix was just needling Clapton. Hendrix had played for years in ultra-tight, in-tune R'n'B bands and featured in backing bands for the Isley brothers and Little Richard among many others. Hendrix was extremely 'musical' and could of course tune his own guitar. He was just being cheeky. Very cheeky...
