Definitely man! Depending on what your budget is, there are plenty of options. If you're willing to spend a bit more money than this jacket, say the 800-1000 dollar range, I'd look at Schott NYC. Their Perfecto motorcycle jacket is a classic if you have the confidence to pull it off, I have a video on it if you're interested. They also have other trucker style leather jackets similar to this. If you got money to burn, perhaps Iron Heart or Real Mcoys. If you're not a huge leather guy or want to stick to a sub 400 dollar range, I'd look into more waxed canvas. Equally tough and badass and also able to patina like crazy. Filson's short lined tin cloth for a boxier and more utilitarian style for 350, Bradley Mountain's Cabin Jacket for about 395, goes down to about the pant's fly area. Let me know if you have any other questions! Consider liking and subscribing, I'd appreciate the support :)

The only problem with the 613s is that the buckle is nickle plated brass. If scratched, the brass underneath will show.

While that may be true, I see it as a positive. Personally, I like my clothes, especially heritage clothing like this to patina. I want it to age and some parts show it's wear and tear, it's how it shows character. At the same time, I completely understand if people wan't their clothes to look brand spanking new. Though leather may not be the best choice for that as it will naturally show it's wear and tear no matter what if you wear it. :)

I am from Toronto Canada. How do i put in an application to buy a pair of Nicks boot?
@thedapperdiary
@thedapperdiary 24 күн бұрын
Contact Nicks Boots: Start by getting in touch with them via their contact form or by calling their customer service. This initial step will help you begin the order and fitting process. Fit Sheet: Nicks Boots will provide you with a fit sheet. This is crucial for ensuring the boots are tailored to your feet's measurements. Measurements: You’ll need to take several measurements: Foot Tracing: Trace the outline of your feet. This helps in determining the correct last (the mold around which the boots are formed). Foot Length: Measure the length of your feet from heel to toe. Ball and Instep Circumference: Measure the circumference of the ball of your foot and the instep. It's advised to wear the socks you intend to use with the boots during these measurements to ensure accuracy. Assistance: It's recommended to have someone help you with the measurements to ensure they are accurate. If help is not available, take extra care to keep your feet flat and your body weight evenly distributed while measuring. Test Pair: Once your measurements are submitted, Nicks Boots often sends a test pair to confirm the fit. You can wear these and report back any adjustments needed before your final pair is crafted. *This is only if you need to to do the custom fitting, most people do not need to. I suggest just ordering a pre-made pair and ordering half size down from your sneaker size. They also offer one free return or exchange per order if it doesn't fit.

I bought the journeyman on a trip to DC at one of their stores. I wore it one time. ONE TIME. I tried to return it immediately after because the straps did not fit comfortably for long-term wear. I'm a woman, I have no idea if that is part of the issue but the bag sags even when the straps are at their tightest and it's uncomfortable. I told Filson that I had worn the item. I was very clear about the situation. I sent the bag back. They sent it back to me saying it was not saleable because it was worn. Yeah I told them that. I contacted customer service again because I can't beleive that a $500 bag isn't returnable after 1 use. I was denied again. They say it's their 'policy'. WTF kinda policy is that? They don't care at all about customer satisfactions. So yes I have a very expensive, cool looking, uncomfotable bag that I can't travel with as planned. I will never spend money with them again.

I have a Filson Jorneyman in tan, it is the most confortable backpack I have... well I liked it so much that I bought a second one in otter green! I do not live in the US and here, because of import taxes, it is even more expensive! I find hard to believe that you did no try it at the shop... your "dislike" would just pop out! I notice most women wear the backpack without knowing or caring how to adjust it... many wearing it sagging by the gluteus muscles! Perhaps a sheet of styrofoam in the back sleeve would improve... Good luck.

The putting on/pulling off sounds somewhat similar to my initial woes with Redwing Pecos. Wearing and walking helped either stretch or form the body of the shoe to let my foot in with far less effort. With regards to the sock shifting thing... yeah, that's a massive annoyance. Recently I got a cheap stainless steel shoe horn to see if that would help. It did for me. Perhaps a shoe horn would help you too.

If you read correctly when you order boots from Nicks it recommends you size down 1/2 size when ordering pull up boots. I received my nicks Pullman blk/roughout. They fit me perfectly. Don’t size down a whole size. Bad ass boots though. I like those 🤙🏼 When you described taking them off, I was hollering! 😂🤣🤣
@thedapperdiary
@thedapperdiary 2 ай бұрын
Yeah sizing a whole size down definitely contributes to why it is difficult to put on and take off. However when I was in store, sizing down a whole size just felt more secure, and once it is on my foot, it actually fits pretty well as long as my socks aren't too thick.

@@thedapperdiary first is made from canvas military use it before nilon because is cheap and durable , manufacturing dose not cost that much , when you can get similar build for less than 20$ , and the hardware is nothing special , if you manifacture prosses is like one bag per week , when other can make 100 per day , don t pas that as primium build
@thedapperdiary
@thedapperdiary 2 ай бұрын
@@darkphotographer Interesting take, here are my thoughts. Canvas is a much better material than nylon for those who are into heritage products as natural materials are preferred. Raw canvas isn't very expensive at all, however waxing canvas increases the price of it by 2-4 times as you need to add in the cost of the wax and the time it takes to saturate the canvas. Can't be for sure, but the waxed canvas and the lining, plus the bridle leather is probably 40-50 dollars of raw material. However, you must keep in mind that Filson products are not mass produced completely done by machine. People are involved in the manufacturing process, whether it's stitching or finishing. Then you have to consider shipping costs from overseas. Everything added together may be 75-100 dollars per bag. Of course, companies want to make a profit, so they obviously won't sell it for the raw value. Lastly, I have been unable to find waxed canvas bags for much cheaper. Most waxed canvas bags you can find are going to be in this similar price range. Though I do agree that some part of the money you are paying, is for the Filson name.

@thedapperdiary
@thedapperdiary 3 ай бұрын
IMPORTANT NOTE! I forgot to mention this in the video, but these boots are handmade, generally made to order. If you do not select a quickship pair, there will be a lead time. For mine, I had to wait about 2-3 months before mine finally arrived. Depending on the leather, it may take longer. My dad went with a special leather so his took about 6 months to arrive. In my opinion along with my dad's, the wait is well worth it! Visit their FAQ page if you have any other questions. nicks.gorgias.help/en-US Furthermore, a viewer has brought to my attention that the engineers specifically can't be rebuilt, sorry for my mistake.

Im 6'1 195lbs. Lean and muscular, not bulky. I have a long torso and my jacket cuts off right at the hips about where my belt rests. The arm and torso length is perfect for me, the only thing id say is that it fits very snugly around my shoulders so reaching across my body to grab the seatbelt is a struggle but manageable and solved by just using my other arm. I imagine this issue will resolve itself in time as the leather breaks in and stretches out to accommodate my range of motion as i wear it more. I bought a medium and dont regret it at all, i agonized over getting a large or medium but am glad i got the medium, its snug and fits just right, any tight spots will resolve themselves in due time through wear
