The ramp cannot have more than an 7.5% slope The proper way to put the tac strip is flush to the asphalt, but sometimes they cheap out and save money not cutting the tac strip so they put it as closest possible place without cutting. There should be a level landing at every ramp, at least 50” by 50”. Sometimes making the ramp flush to the road is not possible as the road could be on a hill or not level. That’s why sometimes you will see the ramp not level with road and they make it up with an asphalt patch. The raised crossing you showed is not right, it should be flat and level.
