Do they create a project charter? Or is a project charter already made, and given for the PM to follow?
@thedigitalprojectmanager
@thedigitalprojectmanager 22 күн бұрын
That’s a great question! We’ve found it varies from place to place, but often a project-oriented company will create a project charter to authorize the PM to start the project. Meanwhile a less project-focused organization may ask the PM to create their own charter for approval. And in some cases, it’s a collaboration!

For new project managers, do we have to use what the company dictates? Or can we use the application we want?
@thedigitalprojectmanager
@thedigitalprojectmanager 26 күн бұрын
Great question! This can differ from company to company, but most organizations will standardize on not more than a handful of tools. Purchasing a new tool typically would trigger a new procurement process. Hope this helps! 💙

I see myself as a hybrid leader, a mixture of the first 3-4 types. I can see myself saying "I dont care how you do it, as long as it gets done" and "You got a easier faster way to do it? Let me hear it, as long as the quality of the end product isn't down, go for it" and being their supporter when they need it. Have a laugh, be there for them for the good and bad days, but also give them a kick in the pants if they need one.

What if we don't have flexible requirements? What if you, for instance, are implementing a standardised protocol? It has to work this one and only way. What happens to the iterative process, delivering value to evaluate?

Thanks for such a great question! We decided to ask it to our community members and received a whole range of answers. Some folks strongly feel that agile is not the solution for everything and might even be detrimental when there’s a high degree of certainty. On the other hand, some folks believe that it can be valuable to add in various elements of agile, such as the way tasks are broken down and the ceremonies. As for our own opinion, we think both are correct in their own ways! But to quote one of our members directly: “there are always uncertainties and issues to navigate no matter how certain anyone thinks a project is.” Hopefully this helps! 💙

There are many Scrum tools in the market, recently there has been a new entrant in this space, known as Vabro. Vabro works on the triple organization principles of Portfolios, Programs, and Projects. It helps teams with the most efficient way of release post Sprints. The feature set includes, Prioritized Product Backlog, Scrum Board (that includes files, links, and comments by the Development Team). Most groundbreaking feature set is that the Tool is powered by AI, that helps further to manage repetitive tasks by the team.

Although ClickUp’s AI is very helpful to quickly generate content or summarize meeting notes 😍, we don’t think it’s a differentiator against other platforms. What makes this tool great is the new underlying structure developed for ClickUp 3.0, which makes it more responsive to user input and added functionality like the task tray. In this review, we have a section with 5 release updates we loved from ClickUp 3.0 > thedigitalprojectmanager.com/tools/clickup-review/ Hope this helps! 💙

This may seem silly… the women in the clip communicated rather abstract concepts using language as the model to do so, before having establishing the meaning (rules) of the language they went on to use. The man communicated a process using a high-level doodle/drawing. Assuming the intended audience of this video are beginners, or maybe just passersby with an interest, I think the doodle did the better job at communication. His model provokes, how, why, where does the money come into play? Not to critique the actors who were all great in their performances.

Respectfully your video is wrong. When you automate tasks, and use tools like ChatGPT, Co Pilot, Etc. There’s just going to be less work for the PMO. Then you ask somebody who is in the twilight of their career. Who probably has a nest egg and can retire today. Respectfully, it would be more helpful if you brought on an employer that handles consulting, project management, Spend money on upkeeping a PMO. If AI can take notes for you, handle, budget, handle schedule, Make memos and PowerPoint, Then you’re just going to need less project coordinators, managers, junior level professionals in the traditional project. There is going to be less barrier between technical and the business itself.

How does PDSA and agile differ, other than in speed of change?
@thedigitalprojectmanager
@thedigitalprojectmanager 3 ай бұрын
Great question! We aren't too familiar with PDSA but like agile, it appears to be a human-centric collaborative framework with iterative cycles driven by feedback. Agile methodologies like Scrum perhaps go a bit further to have more structure in terms of terminology, ceremonies, and artefacts that help a team get aligned on process almost instantaneously - it’s like speaking the same language. PDSA seems a bit more of an experimentation framework to limit and localize the idea to be validated with intentionality. While it appears to have some core themes in common, it doesn’t seem to be labeled a project management methodology. Hope this helps 💙

For me, the standout project management software that has truly transformed the way we handle projects is Vabro. Its interactive features and user-friendly interface make it an invaluable tool for managing tasks, collaborating with the team, and gaining real-time insights into project progress. Vabro's strength lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate agile principles into project management. The tool facilitates smooth collaboration through features like task assignments, real-time updates, and dynamic project timelines. The interactive nature of Vabro enhances communication within the team, fostering a more efficient and cohesive work environment.
