is it just me or is his hand way way way to close to the table saw blade?

J'adore ces boîtes toutes simples et jolies en même temps. J'ai besoin d'aides, je suis débutant...je ne sais pas par quoi commencer... Si vous aviez quelques croquis ou conseils, je serai ravi. Merci

When he says "We have one smaller piece to offset the position of the joint", is the width of the smaller piece the width of the bit (ie: half of the width of the guide pieces?

I did not understand clearly how it works, can someone help?, so you cut some pieces of wood, that I take are double in width to the clot you want to rout out of the wood, you sequentially add them between the fence and the side of the box you want to rout, but wouldn't that result in a box with identical placement of slots and teeth to the box joint? Am I missing something?
@VittorioSergi2 ай бұрын
Oh wait, I get it, you then reverse the order of cut slot/tooth on the other side, I am stupid

I like how you cut the finger joints on all 4 sides in one go. So much quicker that way.

This was like a magic show. Suddenly there was a perfect finger joint. I went back and watched it about four times. It's a really simple, clever method for making this joints. This is exactly the kind of video I like.

I found this video to be *wonderful! No loud music, no talking down to people, just a well-filmed, short, pithy video. ❤ I, personally, could have used *more description, but then, I am very new to wood working. I have, however, been dressmaking and sewing quilts for about 50 years, and apparently, the mental skills overlap. 😆 I watched the video a half dozen times and answered all of my own questions. 👍 I don't think he has too many tools. I have many items in *my sewing room that you would also scoff at ... especially if the only sewing you do is to hem your pants or replace a button now and then. If you're making quilts for sale, or dressing the bride, both mothers, and six attendants, you understand my collection of sewing tools. I imagine Esa is the same. 👍 Thanks Esa, and much love from Texas, USA! 🇫🇮🇨🇱🇺🇲 ❤

I like dovetail joints, however, if I was even the slightest bit handy I think box joints would be good enough for me. Maybe making the boxjoints blind like you've done with these dovetails would be an interesting joint. Newly subscribed as well .....
