I disliked this. I think you're not trying to be inflamatory or anything, so I'll put some thoughts as to why I disliked your thoughts: This is misreading "basic/heavy" as whatever these terms mean outside of WuWa, which imo is just wrong - instead of reading "basic/heavy" I like to read them as primary/secondary instead, because that instantly clears away the assumption that they have anything to do with the vibration gauge. Ok - it just so happens that some characters have better secondary attacks for their kit and such is life. For some characters however, their secondary attacks are the better way to build up the forte gauge (look at how much faster Yangyang can generate her forte and concerto by using secondary x1 as opposed to primary x4) the concerto and resonance energy generation for those moves is often better, and some secondaries have longer animations which you can swap-cancel out of (Sanhua's and Yinlin's secondaries come to mind). Secondary attacks aren't useless *on all characters* - if anything I'd argue that only gun characters have *bad* secondary attacks as of right now, and I think the resource generation/swap tech which is available due to secondary attacks being in the game is actually quite healthy.

But the game calls it "heavy attack" in fact echoes give you "heavy attack damage", futhermore yangyang's heavy attack clearly is not a secondary, tbh that is her primary.

Ok, I don't know if this makes my point any clearer, but we could name them silly attack and goofy attack instead. The thing is that there needs to be a named distinction between them, as they function differently, and will have different purposes - whether we call them fire/water, upper/lower, normal/charged, basic/heavy or banana/apple attacks still doesn't matter xD It's just named distinctively because it works distinctively in a mechanical level for each character. But we still want to know "which buttons to press" to perform these actions. Imagine if they had to make every character have a different specific mechanical name for their moveset - imagine if you had to clear up the difference between "Judgement Mark" and "Punishment Mark" without referring to "its the mark after the forte-heavy attack" would you say its the "mark after the circle explosion thing after the gauge above my hp is filled and you cast the attack where you hold the attack button, not to be confused with the mark she deals from shining zapstring at the enemies"? Anyway - that's an overkill example, but it stands to what I meant: we just need a common name for character's movesets: when we refer to basic/heavy/plunge/dodge attacks, Resonance Skill, Forte Circuit, Resonance Liberation, Intro and Outro Skills, we are talking about the equivalent features of all character's movesets. If we suddenly decided to say "its the elemental burst for Changli", or something similar, we'd be using Genshin naming conventions, but you'd still know exactly which paralel I'm making. Heck - I hear a lot of youtubers refer to the skill leveling in WuWa as "Traces", which is apparently from HSR? But I digress - its nice to have namings that work universally within a game, but expecting the same naming conventions in all games is just not something I particularly like, lol

@@5daydreams that response was OD 😭 but I get what you saying I don't know anything about genshin but I do use terminology from star rail sometimes but I mainly use things from for honor and naraka bladepoint because that's my competitive background and that's also the combat I'm seeking so it is unfair that I hold that combat features to the same "regard or standard" not to down play the combat

I understand the point of your video. It's for characters whose heavy attacks lack mechanics and are essentially just a liability, serving no real purpose other than extra animation. If they at least had a small bonus stagger effect after parrying or something to compensate for the stamina consumed, it would have made for an interesting universal mechanic that adds a bit more depth to the fights.

It really depends what character we're talking about, you can't make a general statement. Most characters benefit more from heavy attacking than basic attacking. For Spectro-Rover it just does the most damage, period. For Senhua you get to basic attack 4 right after her short hold heavy, and it's great for parrying. For Yinlin, it fills her forte gauge way faster, especially against groups. Same story for Yangyang. And it goes without saying that Jiyan is built around his heavy.

@@silveroseyoutube Your point of the video was that heavy attacks "are just not useful" because they don't drain more stability or do more damage, but they do have uses outside of that. And to say "yeah but outside of those other uses they're useless" is silly. It's like saying parrying is useless cuz it does nothing besides stunning the enemy, and it should be doing moar damagg!!!! If heavies were universally always stronger then basics, that would be a design flaw, not to mention boring. If you're gonna complain about heavies, complain about pistol heavies. See now those are useless all the time.

The things is, we are lacking characters as of 1.1 Still, yinlin, clacharo, danjin, verina, encore uses them. We will definitely get characters later in the future that uses heavy attacks for dps.

I recommend just focusing on dodging first to get use to his moves, after you’re fine with dodging then focus on parries and spamming intro skills, don’t worry about combos until weakness bar is broken. some bosses have delaying looking attacks to make things more dramatic but ultimately makes things a bit more difficult.

I think a price increase coupled with a slight fire rate nerf could fix some of the issues. Maybe bump it up to 3000 creds so its a no go round 2 unless you dominate round 1. It is TERRIFYING to challenge this gun as it is, which it should be, but I think it is too good at getting picks
