My Family and I love coming to Virginia Beach every June. In fact, in just 2 days, we are coming back for Vacation.

My dad is from New York, and his mother/my grandmother is buried (along with generations of ancestors) in Woodstock Cemetery. I was 15 yrs old the year of the music festival and listened to my dad's worries of the possibility of "hippies desecrating the cemetery!" Much to the family's relief the festival was actually miles away in Bethel, New York.

Shockoe Bottom i see, use to be alot more clubs and places but alot of places closed up, Probably because of COVID and Gun violence or they just packed it up and left. It used to be way way more crazy than this

You just need to be alert and watch out for people shooting their guns off in the Air, especially in Shockoe Bottom.

I enjoy these videos of my hometown. I do not go into that part of the city that often. You seem very safe to me. I know it can feel intimidating. But it's a lot safer now than it use to be. I had no idea how beautiful downtown is now. I use to work right around the street years ago..Thanks for the memories ❤
