This is very interesting. I'm teaching my children English from French and I struggle with which aspect of the language to start with. Grammar seems the better understood but then we would need to use it in a conversation and that's when I get mixed up with What to say!

This is the book you need, “Myths and blind spots in the fighting arts’ world” (on A/on). It gives a deep understanding of combative reality and explains why traditional arts must reform.

I think it is an algorithm. Now we have AI and quantum computing, perhaps we can solve the mystery and true meaning of the 64 Hexagrams i.e. why only 64 Hexagrams etc. Is it just math or something else. I think we have the means now.

Hi, I know this video is 4 years old but taking a chance. I am trying to find out where my great great grandfather came from. I have a few documents but not much. I found out his chinese name and he was from the Zhongshan area. Could I perhaps contact you to see if you could help me further? I have been on a few chinese immigration websites but I have not been able to find anything. Thank you

Great presentation. Garbage shows where the civilization is headed. But why is it not possible for civilization to strictly enforce use of resources in a way that can be recycled? For example, if all bottles were made of same type of glass, they can be easily collected and recycled to make new bottles. Same for packaging. Instead of plastics, make all packaging out of aluminum only. That way all packaging can be easily collected and recycled to make new aluminum. it seems like it is possible for a relatively modern society to eliminate most of it's garbage by strictly regulating what type of products can be made and only make those products which can be easily recycled. with very little loss. The hard part is that most people will refuse to be put under such constraints just to save our civilization and our future as species.

At the present time Hollywood has been going down in flames as Bruce Lee keeps getting bigger and bigger. Why because people want to grow and that’s what Bruce is all about while Hollywood keeps catering for the mindless and soulless . Well souls are rising so people are looking forward inspiration and not just killing time.

Growing up in the 70s and 80's, popular culture had it that the Mafia was an omnipotent force in America. That is an interesting correlation between the collapse of the Soviet Union and the various syndicates.

Reb Anderson wrote a book called "The Third Turning of the Wheel" that discusses the Samdinirmochana Sutra, which was the source of the ideas of Yogacara Buddhism. Thich Nhat Hahn's book "Understanding Our Mind" is also really good.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear AAARI co-founder, Dr. Betty Lee Sung. She was a true pioneer in the Asian American community and her contributions to AAARI will never be forgotten. Her tireless dedication, passion, and leadership have played an instrumental role in the success of AAARI. Her warm and compassionate nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of working with her. She will be greatly missed by all of us and we offer our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace!

The cinema version of Game of Death directed by Robert Clouse was a tragedy, he killed Bruce Lee original idea and shot the film in a messy way, stupid story too. The documentary “the worrior’s journey” by John little recovered the original idea of Bruce Lee, highly recommended.

The example of the "Flow of Life" was superbly done. Also, the reading list contained Lusthaus' "Buddhist Phenomenology," which is a a very important work in contemporary philosophy. The connections between Husserl (specifically) and the Yogacara tradition, are incredibly rich.
