Hey bro great video!! That’s an important topic for people. I reviewed those ridge washer nozzles and compared them to the mtm as well as the mckillans nozzles with the guards on them and during my test you could see a big difference in the gpm between the ridge washer nozzle vs the mtm and mckillans. I agree that there 4.0 is probably closer to a 3.5

I din't use DIY too much, so i try and come up with ways to use it up. I mixed up a bottle of 256:1 , sprayed it on my hand, it's just not slick. So, if V2 is slicker, where does it actually land? V1 is far off from other products, in slickness. Solid cleaner though.

No, it never was very slick, though it does make an awesome clay towel lube. Though with a sponge it did have some slickness. I always found the issue for me was my towel wanting to bunch up drying. Have you ever tried P&S Pearl shampoo as a rinseless wash? I have seen a lot online about using it as a rinseless and plus P&S does say it can be used as a rinseless. My last 4-5 customers I have tried it 256: 1 and I gotta say I like it a lot. It was hot here in Michigan last week, so I was using it in some pretty hot temps. I had absolutely no problems with water spots and it cleaned very very well. Obviously with Pearl being around a 9 pH It should clean better I guess. But I would love to see you try P&S Pearl and compare it with some of these big name rinseless washes. Pearl is $25 compared to $50 a gallon. Pearl is already pretty slick to begin with. I even added a 1/2 oz of P&S Absolute Rinseless in my 3 gallons of water on a couple of my customers cars to see if it would make a difference with the Pearl and I honestly couldn't see a big improvement in sickness. I have used Absolute for years now and I can say that Pearl is just as good if not better (cleaning). As a small business mobile guy I'm always trying to save $$$ without jeopardizing the quality of work I do and would love to get some opinions on Pearl as a rinseless. I've only used DIYs V1 Rinseless and I absolutely love it. But at half the cost and probably even better cleaning abilities, Pearl is intriguing me to use as my rinseless wash . Would love some thoughts on this. Thanks!

Thanks for doing the DIY V2 review. Which drying towel do you find glides better on the surface while drying, the Liquid8r or the DIY drying towel?
@TheOutdoorDetailer
@TheOutdoorDetailer 7 күн бұрын
The DIY blanket is overkill for me on a rinseless wash so I've never used it for that. On a regular wash I prefer the DIY towel. For rinseless try the Amphibian towel from Autofiber. Drag the twist loop side across then wipe with the plush side. (The Gyeon large EVO drying towel is great but at 30 bucks it's too costly) end of the day on rinseless all towels feel pretty similar, and the rinseless wash is what really determines a lot of the feel.

@@TheOutdoorDetailer Have you found the Amphibian with the 75/25 blend to be just as soft as the 70/30 Liquid8r? I was leaning towards the Liquid8r due to the slightly better blend but perhaps the feel of the Amphibian is just as good or better. By the way, I love your channel.

You really can't tell with the 5% difference. The twist loop feels similar on both. I think people misunderstand what the blends do. If it was all about feeling soft, instead of 70/30 it would be 50/50 or something else. Even 80/20 is a good blend for a drying towel. The weave is also very important. The Gauntlet from TRC soaks up water but to me takes longer to do it, meaning it seems to need to wick the water into the fibers and then it's ready for more. (My very first video on the channel kind of shows this, bit in a poor way.)

Definitely not "Click-Bait" (even though it worked for me) it's more of a well appreciated "Public Service Announcement". Thanks for posting this. As much as I monitor most of the major, and minor, appliances around our house, I had never really thought about checking the pressure washer out. And I surely never would have given nozzle differences a thought. I just "Assumed" that all that stuff was good to go. I already have a watt meter that I have been using for years and have a water pressure gauge around here somewhere in the black hole in my garage. I don't have a massively powerful pressure washer like yours, just a little 2100 psi /1.2 gph model that I picked up on sale at Lowes for around $80. But it does draw electricity and I have purchased a few items that are rated for larger units than mine, higher pressure and higher gpm ratings than I have. Everything seems to work just fine, some even better than expected. I think I might need to follow your lead and test what's going on with mine. Thanks again and have a fantastic day!

Orifice accuracy is a widespread issue even MTM ones have been off. Foam cannon orifice nozzles are worse. Great video! Also, bucket markings are sometimes off by 10% which is why I switched to weighing the water with a certified calibrated scale. I have pin gauges now to know for sure on size, but it only works on foam cannons and 0 degree nozzles. The other angles such as 40 degree you can’t measure with a round pin. Thanks for the kind words as well. $15 amp meter is your best friend.

Yeah, at least with those buckets I measured out with my 32oz marked pitcher I bought. The home depot one was surprisingly on target, though I likely wouldn't catch 10%. In any event it was more about the power draw and repeatability of results.

@tinkerscorner54 8 күн бұрын
If you would want to test the angles, Plumbers Putty (or modeling clay, or even clay bar) can be used to make an impression of the angle (like the casts that cops make of footprints in the dirt). A digital camera, separate or the one on your phone/device, A graphic editor (Photo Shop, Paint Shop Pro, or The Gimp (Open Source, download and use for Free) or CAD program, and a decent computer and monitor or a laptop, and you're all set to test. Take the dough/putty and press a small ball of it into the face of the nozzle. Carefully remove the putty from the nozzle. (a thin film of coconut oil may help keep it from sticking and ease removal without distorting the piece. (Make sure that you remove any putty that may have clogged the hole with your pin gauge.)) Take the picture of the impression left in the putty/dough from the side. Hopefully there is no distortion when you removed the putty. Upload the Pic to your device Open the picture into your graphic editor or CAD program. Zoom in and use the graphics editors angle measuring feature to get the precise angle and record your results. Then there is the easy way. Take a picture with your phone and pull out your handy-dandy protractor and measure it. I also think they have an app for that, too. Have a great day!😁

I am hoping you do an update on your WASHR PRO to see if you have any issues with it popping the GFI or you breaker like I did. In my experience and many others it is not an outstanding machine. The adjustment procedure you are referring to officially came from BigBoi as a lot of their units were not meeting the specs they listed, mine was one of them. I received the procedure from them and it did not help with the performance. My unit would also not turn on when you pulled the trigger, again called tech support and received another bulletin from BigBoi on stretching the spring for the TSS. Worked for a short time before the spring returned back to its original length. In order to get my unit to come close to the 1.99 original specs I had to set the regulator so my pressure gauge read 1250-1300 PSI but that caused it to pull over 15 amp and when I connected their foam cannon, it went over 17 amps With the same 4.0 Veloci nozzles you used I could not get over 850PSI while adjusting the regulator with BigBoi tech support on the phone, at that PSI I barley produced 2.0GPM BigBoi just kept blaming the power system in the US. There is a reason they pulled it off of their website and now have a new unit labeled as the MKII which is now listed at a maximum 1200PSI and 1.88GPM with the .35 nozzles I ended up having to start a charge back with my credit card company after 2 month of trying tp get BigBoi to take this unit back. So the reason I posted was to say you are correct on testing your pressure washers, and all of the accessories to make sure you are running with in the manufacture's specs. If I would have not tested mine I would not have known I got a unit that did not meet specs and wasted a lot of money. I would also recommend trying the PN2500 NEMA 5-15 power monitor as this unit has a max of 25A 3000W @ 120V, it cost more but I don't recommend constantly taking units that are rated at 15amp over 15amps.

@TheOutdoorDetailer 10 күн бұрын
So if I unplug the unit when done and plug it back in, I always hit the reset on the GFI. It never fails I need to do that. As far as amp draw and performance I am amazed at the draw with the 4.0 nozzles.

This is a valuable lesson that I hope everyone takes the time to watch. And here is my experience with Ridge nozzles. I have three different sets of nozzles for my pressure washer, each a different size. One set is the OEM from SunJoe, the second set is from Vevor, and the last is the 3.0 size from Ridge. When I tested the pressures for each set, all the nozzles in a set tested within 25 psi of each other. However, one of the Ridge nozzles was 200 psi different than the rest, so I returned them for a replacement set. The replacement set is worse. Two nozzles are 200 psi higher than two others. I am not concerned about damaging my SunJoe because I plan to replace it with an Active 2.0 very soon. Any extra nozzles I but will be Veloci. I will just have to forego the nice rubber shroud.

I'm not saying they're all bad. Your set may be perfect. I returned mine as defective and am waiting for a new set, which I will test. Still, QC seems low and one should always test changes like this to be sure.

Sometimes “quality” beats “economical”. Sometimes, not. However, when you’re dealing with machinery, electrical and/or pressure … quality overrules economical nearly every time. For pressure washers, just use the stock tips it comes with. If you think you have to upgrade to a prettier version, stick to brands that are reputable … like MtM. They’re more expensive, but if you don’t want to pony up, use the stock tips. Upgrades are wants, not needs. 😊😊😊
