Too much drama. More of emotional issues, rather than of the epoxy kind. I have asthma and have been working with epoxy for close to 11 years. Every now and then instead of scotch, a puff of Seratide rolls the dice in my favour and epoxy nearness over the years has had no bearing on my regular dosage or health.

I work with Epoxy since years (boat building), and have never had/experienced any problems, so for me this is completely “news”. However, I always work in well ventilated areas, and only use 2:1 non blushing, odorless and food grade Epoxy, which might make the difference ? I only once used an Epoxy which was not “food grade”, had a nasty smell (the hardener), so I never used it again, since the VOC’s were marked as “harmful”. Maybe reading the “safety labels “ before using certain Epoxy would help to avoid sickness…

Where do I go to get the designs or Teflon sheets to print on the shirt

One of the first things I do starting a new craft is reading all the directions and warnings. And that is why I have not started my resin (I have cats, not going to hurt them). I have the materials, just not proper ventilation. Yet. Hope your health at least improves. And thank you.

Cricut design space always takes my imported custom designs and ruins the scale. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong with it, but when I’m doing custom medical cases? You want to make the ugly pretty. And design space has ruined more of my sublimation print than cut items than any other program. It’s a great way to make anyone crazy when it’s all right there… and then it fails on the print - it basically scales everything I import in down to the wrong size. 🤷🏽‍♀️ even when I just make it a regular rectangle. The scale of the design is always wrong, or the color is wrong. Adobe CC? No issue.

Epoxy has such a beautiful finish but I feel like people ignore trying to do it outside in a ventilated area because they don't want anything falling into the mix as it dries. I've seen one guy use this little tent lid. It is a chemical reaction, same with acrylic pouring is adding chemicals in it like floetrol. So gloves should also be warn, some people even double glove :*( I've always thought you quickly pour it, cover it (It is self leveling) and then walk away and come back and check on the drips with a mask and definitely not even attempt it if pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Hope your lungs heal. Might be worth getting a puffer with a steroid to get strength back into your lungs if you havent done that.

I understand this is a psa, but this has to be the most ignorant thing I had to listen to. Facebook groups and Dr google are not medical professionals. Not once did she ever mention going to a Dr or mention ever reading the warning labels on products. Smh. This is why there is a warning label on blow dryers on not taking it into the shower with you

I can’t believe someone claiming to be a “professional” and teaching a class would have you believe that epoxy is safe to breathe in, but i guess there are all sorts of frauds out there. If I were you I would sue, i think it’s best that people are aware of this as well as the instructors being held accountable for their damages.

I always pour my epoxy resins in the mycarport where there is plenty of ventilation. I'm so sorry you're having these issues.

There are times the foil will remove my ink, is there a solution for that?

I am so sorry. I have lupus and breathing issues also. I used to make retainers with acrylic in an old basement. No respiratory precautions. I firmly believe that had something to do with my problems. I am so thankful that you put this out there because I was going to start trying epoxy. I hope you get better and thank you for the info! ❤❤❤

First, so sorry for your medical issues. Chronic medical issues are more than just the physical symptoms, it’s mental affects compound the situation and have an impact that is endless. So, so sorry. I have not started using resin yet. Planning on doing some in the future. Mostly just as coatings or finishing of polymer clay pieces. Polymer clay, btw, may be a good substitute for crafting instead of resin. Nice and relaxing. But I already bought a respirator and upgraded chemical filter. Still need gloves. Not sure if us resin is as bad as epoxy, but will wear the respirator. But you are 100% correct. I watch all these videos and they rarely , and I can only remember one KZfaqr who put on a mask. But the all should AND, in the beginning there should be a verbal warning in the beginning of all resin videos regarding proper personal protection before using resin, even if you cannot smell any fumes. Just wondering, though, have you been to the doctor and what did he say regarding the symptoms getting better over time? And did he agree that the resin fumes were the cause? Again, so sorry for the medical issues. I have ongoing medical issues, and they definitely take a toll mentally as well as physically. Even if using well ventilated workspaces, the curing time lets of fumes and when do the fumes dissipate? Or do they ever? More research needed. I think I will continue to focus n polymer clay.

Seriously if you didn’t know and were never told not to breath the epoxy it’s a real surprise. There are warnings on the bottles.

I watched so many videos before trying my first cup and epoxy to try and fell in love with it! Never once heard about the bad side effects. Turns out I’m extremely allergic and get a rash just from the bottle being open in the same room as my skin! It’s crazy! I lucky quickly found out the problem and started suiting up but it’s rare I’ll do them anymore. But crazy thing is my daughter came home from the store with what I thought was a mini food brands mystery ball. But she opened it and then showed me asking how to put it together. I saw it was freaking resin and flipped out! Bc I know it’s been hard on me! But they are putting this crap in kids toys! She ALMOST LICKED THE RESIN! Because it was in a cute little mini honey jar looking toy! And be for real how many parents have bought the real mini toys for their kids before? NEVER do they have real food in them but a kid is not going to take the time to read directions before rippin open a toy they just got! Luckily we did!

Damn I work at a shipyard as an electrician and I had never even HEARD of epoxy until day one of hazardous materials training. I don’t even work with epoxy but they STILL require everyone to learn safety around chemicals like epoxy. The fact that people are using this stuff for art is, quite honestly, scary. Didn’t know you can just buy it at a craft store either. Yikes.

For God you appeared to me. ( watch you) First thing every morning. before any eat or drink. Mix REAL NATURAL HONEY ( not from a store. Like wlmrt. Etc.) With 2 lemons. Mexican lemons. So is kind of a bit drinkable . Use a plastic spoon to mix It,, it creates a reaction. Do that every morning. Your lungs will be clear in about 2 weeks. NO MATTER WHAT. Note: You will start to spit a lot. Feel free. No hard coughing but you will feel like things are coming up to your chest. Just. Spit it. All natural remedy. If you believe. You can try. EVERY ONE. THANKS GOD. FOR SHOW ME PEOPLE THAT I CAN HELP. 🙂

What is the difference between the new $8 and the $13 memberships

Please help me, its been 4 years working with resin without masks because i was uneducated with using the product and have had a cough for what seems like 2 years. A deep bad cough and my voice sounds like yours. I had chest tightness the other day when i tried to do a bookmark and never thought the fumes could be harming me since they come in craft kits on amazon. Im now considering selling every single resin item I have. I don't want to endure the pain of how much worse this can get as im already autoimmune struggling with multiple health issues. So my question is, how did you get diagnosed? How were doctors able to tell/test the epoxy was the cause? Id like to talk to my doctor about this thank you so much for sharing
