Cross subnet routing dropping out during a service interruption or Internet outage sure seems like a deal breaker for me...... Seems like Ravenna/AES67 is a more resilient solution......

One more question. On the Bluetooth side what codecs are supported? Specifically are aptX HD, aptX lossless, or Sony LDAC supported?

Does the Bluetooth interface allow the Bluetooth device name to be changed? So that if I have two devices in adjacent rooms a user can know which one they are pairing with. My use case is a performing arts building with multi purposes spaces. So lets say a drama teacher is in the auditorium running a class with their device connected to the auditorium sound system via Bluetooth. In the next room, which may be within Bluetooth range a dance class is going on and that teacher wants to play tracks via the Bluetooth in that room. So giving the Bluetooth interfaces meaningful device names would be super helpful.

You mention, here, "intercom". There are some Dante hardware clients suitable for com, but they're all well up into scale-3 pricing, breaking over into scale-4. Y'know, if you made a 1x1 AVIO with a PTT button, and an A4M plug on a couple inch cable, at AVIO pricing...

How is the AD conversion in these? I need quality. So lets say I have a Mackie mixer 16 channel(I would use the XLR adapters) and I want that main out piped to the network so my mackbook m2 can see it. At that point do I just need the free dante software to record to a DAW?

Dante in full is great running on network switches. I've also see it used point-to-point from mics to DSPs, can you use these adapters like this? Say to tap the audio from a Sennheiser TCC2 > direct-cat-cable > AVIO-USB > users laptop? or is its JUST for tapping it via network switch (setup in dante controller)?

Hi @cymruav664, Yes, Dante devices can work point to point once their configuration has been setup in Controller. This will require a network switch, so the computer and the devices can be accessed. USB AVIO adapters do not allow standard data traffic, so you have to use a second network adapter for that setup and communication. Once the setup has been done and audio is working, you can connect the devices directly together and the settings will be remembered. Keep in mind that any PoE powered device will require a PoE switch, or a PoE injector to function. While the USB AVIO can be powered from the USB port of a computer, it is a suggested practice to use Power over Ethernet, especially if the adapter plans to be connected to multiple machines throughout the day.

hello, can i use dante via and virtual souncard on the same time? or they are supposed to work independently ? i need to multitrack more than 32 channels and on the same time i need playback and talkback

Hi @lowbass5! Dante Via and Virtual Soundcard cannot be running at the same time. They use the same processes. If you need 32 channels, then DVS is the only option in software. Can you use dante via with a physical mixer. basically i want to rout my interfaces to zoom daw etc without a physical mixer with a dante card. -- thanks

Hello Tedz! Thank you for asking, but we’re not quite sure what you’re trying to accomplish here. Dante Via can be downloaded and a 30 day trial started on any Windows or Mac computer.
